Anyone's child found the presents?

I had a close call yesterday when dd went into my wardrobe to get something.

I have all the presents in there hidden at the back.

She didn't mention anything but now I'm worried she will look there if she suspects anything.

Anyone else's dc found the presents? What did you say if they did?

I have a pooing flamingo in a brown box by the side of my bed. My DD asked me what was in the box - I told her a delivery of cleaning stuff. She’s not looked twice at it since.

Ours has no idea that the bed lifts up with storage underneath. If he ever figures it out christmas will be ruined 😂 We've been careful to make sure he never sees us opening it up.

My 2 know where there presents are so don't look. I think they know how devestated I'd be if they did plus they know it would spoil the suprise for them.

I have very little loft space as we put bloody bedrooms up there for the teens Hmm I curse that decision every Christmas Grin our house is very minimalist, everything has a place and we have built storage to accommodate what we have and need but not for random influxes of boxes and packages! I tend to put as much as I can into delivery boxes etc and then put the larger box into the loft cupboards.
To be fair, the older ones are teens now, they could work out quite easily where I hide everything but they don’t seem to be arsed looking. The eldest one has always loved surprises (unlike me) and I have always tried hard to keep things a surprise so they still
Really look forward to Christmas.
I have some boxes of presents in the spare room but it’s totally empty having just been redecorated and the carpet and furniture is going in next week so will have to get things wrapped - at that point I can relax a bit.

FireUnderpants · 04/12/2020 20:45

I have to wrap as soon as I get things in the house as dds will peak.

I didnt think DS was that bothered and showed little interest in a bag that I told him was for his cousins. But turns out he had a big chat with mil about it and he had checked all the name tags and had a good feel to see what he and his sisters are getting. Mil asked me what the big one was for him as it had him stumped. I didn't even know he had pulled the lot out,it's in an ikea bag on the top shelf of a storage cupboard. He's too sneaky and is playing it cool as he hasn't mentioned anything.

I'm considering wrapping a toilet roll pack and sticking his name on it to see if he has a feel of it too.

Ours are in boxes or fabric bags in the bedroom. The girls knows this but haven't figured out that some are their gifts because none have name tags on yet and we just say it the gifts that we help their great great grandparents with because we are buying on their behalf, they believe it.

No, and they've been in a massive box in my kitchen since September

My 3yo always finds presents, then shows the older ones who are normally oblivious.

Try taping the door and tell her the hinge has fallen off and need to keep it shut until you get it fixed. I hide as many as I can in suitcases ontop of wardrobes but when I get them down to wrap I pull summer clothes out and put them on top so when they ask why the suitcases are out I tell them I’m packing away the summer clothes and having a tidy up,
