Anyone else excited for the morning?

I’ve kept all things Christmas at bay but now the advent calendars are on the breakfast table, the effing elf is back, the mice have taken up residence in the doll house and from tomorrow I can eat mince pies and hum Christmas songs.

Never mind the kids and their chocolate contraptions, I have a gin calendar this year and have had a dry November in preparation. Now would it be inappropriate to have a g and t in hand at the morning zoom meeting?

Advent calendars ready! Tree up but no lights or decs yet. This is seriously the first year I have ever heard about this elf thing. What is that?

HECK YES!! Not much organised here, we had a horrendous week last week (were due to complete on our move on Friday but chain collapsed on Weds) plus the usual toddler manicness. I've not been allowing myself to feel remotely festive as couldn't picture it without knowing what house we'd be in. Just heard yesterday that our vendor is willing to wait for us until the chain can be restored, THANK GOD. Now we can look forward to our dream house but get on with enjoying (hopefully our last!) Christmas here! Aiming to rope the toddler into helping with the general decoration, then putting up the tree during naptime with Christmas tunes and a cheeky Baileys latte. Cannot wait!!

My DC have Lego advent calendars for the first time although they are in 6th form! And I have the Lego Elf Clubhouse

Christmas decs will go up next week when the eldest is home from uni.
Mince pies and Christmas music are on today’s agenda though.

jennyZ123 how stressful. So glad you have sorted it. We lsot our on 2 houses a few years agao when our chain broke down twice - all last minute. It is such a stresful time. Hope you enjoy making your current home festive for one last time. sgrin

@GetTheGoodLookingGuy I'm feeling better now as I remembered they didn't have a calendar last year either, as the year before one of them didn't open the Lego calendar last day 3 and the other said he he wasn't bothered about the chocolate so it stayed in the cupboard.

I didn't realise a 1st Dec breakfast was a thing. DS2 has already made himself breakfast, DS2 is isolating from school so won't get up until 11 I suspect, and nothing says Xmas like the first zoom mtg at 8:39. How does everyone else manage this? I salute everyone who was up until 2am making waffles and muffins - I need to see photos to get my mojo back!

They have indeed, in the shed, with beautifully constructed bedding made up of what was my Christmas decorations....
I haven't got the heart to kick them out yet as the damage is already done!

Dd18 has Lego and Maltesers advent calendars this year, she doesn't know it yet but I'm hoping it might cheer her up a bit because she's been very down since her apprenticeship was cancelled.

I've also got the Wii set up this morning with the hopes of enticing her to play the We Wish You A Merry Christmas game. It has an amazingly bad bowling game where you are basically smashing elves to kingdom come and it's very good at releasing frustration!
