ELF ON THE SHELF :)

I won't be doing it in my house as son just won't understand it, looking forward to next year though!
When does your elf visit, from the 1st or a week before Xmas?

They can both be nice and mischievous. This is the first year we've had 2 and so far they've been pretty nice so tonight will be more mischievous.

We have two elves this year for the first time. Clementine joined Norbert so they’re having fun together (they formed a support bubble) . They arrive on the first with a few presents (nothing major- just Christmas books and Lindt Christmas chocs really) and stay until Christmas Eve. We have a North Pole breakfast on Christmas Eve. I’ve done it for 8 years now so not a new fad for us. The elves are currently on a zip line (string) extended across our living room!

We didn’t plan to have 2. DS7 got it into his head that the elf might not return this year so bought one mid November with his pocket money. I could’ve left it at that, but his brother tried to talk him out of wasting his money with reassurance that the elf always returns (he believes too) so I had to bring back the first one too. The boys have decided that our first one is good (based on previous years) and the new one is a bit cheeky! They do have a gentle word with the new elf when needed about his behaviour so maybe he’ll calm down a bit... who knows!

Mine forgot to move last night, but dc seemed to forget they’d left them on the sofa and happily informed me the elves had been sitting together and chilling out this morning. Must try harder tonight!

They’re making breakfast for tomorrow morning: fried eggs (haribo!) and toast (cut into Christmas trees and put in the toaster ready)

BreakfastofWaffles I love this idea! My youngest is 8 nearly 9 and I think this will be the last year of truly believing. I'll probably do it again next year but then retire the elf after that - was wondering how to do it in a gentle way, your letter idea is genius.

our elf arrived early this year, with a mask on to elf-isolate but couldn't do magic till December 1

she's at the top of the ladder today having put up the santa cam, and yesterday she was judging at Elf Strictly, squeezed into a barbie evening gown, with a couple of score paddles, with 2 lol dolls dancing, and a christmas tree bauble as the glitter ball

Already for the morning!

Mine taped some ribbon to the fireplace, tied the other end to the door handle, hooked candy canes over it and are using it as a zip wire.
Not sure what they’re planning for tonight, but apparently DD13 has a plan....
