Board games

I appreciate we're all supposed to be doing quizzes and I have had a look through and can't see any recommendations, but for the first time in years we're actually going to be able to play games as my mother with dementia can't be there as shielding. We have all the usuals: linkee, articulate, exploding kittens etc but does anyone have any new game suggestions? Something loud and raucous is the order of the day (in a socially distanced way ....).

Why are we supposed to be doing quizzes??

We have enjoyed recently:
Ticket to Ride
Risk (Walking Dead addition)
Bank Attack (not a board game but fast paced and fun)

I've got Scotland Yard and Mysterium Park for my 2 this Christmas and they look really good.

We've just gotten Stramash. Tis a Scottish game and great fun.

Also, Nerts. It's a super fast-paced card game that can accommodate any number of players and can be played in pairs so younger kids can join in too. My family has been playing it since I was tiny and last year I taught my grown nieces and nephews and 8 yr old DS. Much shouting and hilarity. bicyclecards.com/how-to-play/nerts/

Fluxx
Gimme the Brain
Smash Up
King of Tokyo

useful reviews on boardgamegeek.

Last Christmas we got the 5 second rule, really fun! Also you could try monopoly deal (card game and a lot quicker than regular monopoly) and code names.

We looked at Stramash, the concept sounds intriguing and could be fun, but it is awfy dear for what it is. I am hoping it comes down in price after Christmas.

I assume you mention of quizzes was due to social distancing? I imagine it should be possible to social distance and play Pictionary Air?
