Hi, I know this will have been asked before but my searching and googling is not cutting it.

Can anyone recommend a wishlist type of thing, that's not Amazon? It's for a child who mainly wants books.

Thanks very much

I’n not being facetious but mine used pen and paper to write their lists. Do you need an app for the list writing, or is it just for the research?

WorraLiberty · 29/11/2020 14:46

Surely all you need are the titles and authors?

Grandparents and aunties and uncles normally prefer a list they can peruse and choose something from, knowing they are not duplicating.
I used to send an email round but we moved to Amazon lists after one child got 3 copies of the same book.

Maybe it's just us then. Don't worry.

I find having online wishlists really helpful - let’s relatives choose from suitable options without all duplicating, and gets me out of having to check/keep track of what everybody gets.

You can use a service like wishlist.com.

But if it’s mainly books - could you ask a local independent bookshop whether they’d take orders for you? Ie you give them a list of books, give all your relatives the same list, and then they call the bookshop to choose one or more, the bookshop then keeps track to make sure there’s no duplicates. We did this a few years ago and it worked well.
