Garlands

I want a garland for the fireplace and the stair banister. Ideally pre lit that I can decorate myself. Everything I have seen online looks cheap, nasty and flimsy! Any suggestions for a decent quality artificial one that doesn't cost the earth? Am I better off buying real and doing it all myself?

Following this as I also want one for my bannister and am going to try making one. I'm the least creative person imaginable so if anyone has any advice or easy to follow tutorials that would be great!

How expensive are they, roughly? I'd love one of these.
