I've pretty much finished my Xmas shopping, definitely finished for my children but now I'm going through what I've bought, I'm feel very twitchy.
My DS(3) loves crafty stuff and so I've got him lots of play doh and art and crafts stuff and kinetic sand. He has a toy shop and a Thomas the tank engine train track but not many actual toys. I DO know that he will absolutely love the play doh and kinetic sand and having a big toy shop and train set on top of that is plenty (and a nerf gun, toy plane and dress up set) not to mention all the stuff my family will get him but I'm trying really hard to resist the twitch!!

Marmite I bought those same unicorn earmuffs! But couldn’t resist giving them to DD so she’s wearing them to school and loves them!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/11/2020 22:27

Xmas Grin lachy Ahh yes , The Thing is an annual phenomenon !

TheRubyRedshoes · 26/11/2020 22:32

Oh yes, massively twitching, wondering if it's enough!!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/11/2020 08:42

I've ordered a 1 litre bottle of Korres shower gel

It's a litre so it'll last ages
It's Cinnamon and Vanilla so a classic Christmas smell
We can all use it
We need to wash so it won't be wasted .....

Mustbethewine · 27/11/2020 09:09

I get the twitch every single year 😂 I've pretty much finished buying for the kids. All I need now is a 'cool helmet' and knee, elbow and wrist guards for DS2 and a headphones stand for DS1 and I'm done. I'm going to try my hardest to not buy anything else 😂

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 27/11/2020 10:27

I'm trying so hard not to twitch for dd2. But shes just added tic tac toy to her santa list that I hadn't bought. I know she will be happy with what she has and I've got 2 out of 3 things she's asked for. Plus she's into lots of popular stuff so seeing lots of bargains on things she would love.

I needed to get out all my gifts and check what I have but dd2 is now having to isolate for 2 weeks ☹

LastGoldenDaysOfSummer · 27/11/2020 10:32

'fraid so. Done and dusted 2 weeks ago. Twitched twice yesterday.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/11/2020 21:36

Twitched a couple of handtowels .

I am sure I have some in the loft but I might have recycled them to cleaning cloths or recycled out of the house .

I put Christmas towels and Christmas Loo Roll out and this year both will be out on Dec 1st ....so I;ll need a few .

I was looking at some in M&S (ordered them) then I had some in the Dunelm basket ( so ordered them too) .

TeaOneSugar · 28/11/2020 21:52

I've twitched, DD is having an expensive games console and was warned not to expect anything else which is easier said than done. She's getting mainly cash from family to buy stuff games etc. so I am concerned she won't have much to open. She's old enough to understand how expensive the console was and how lucky she is to be getting it, but I'm still tempted to twitch again. I'm putting up the tree tomorrow and will be wrapping her presents so we'll see what it looks like 🙄

I have, in theory, finished Christmas shopping.

HerbErtlinger · 08/12/2020 15:20

Trying to resist more twitching. For some reason I've got it in my head that DS NEEDS a marble run. DD has been hinting at LED lights too...

Off to the actual shops tomorrow for secret Santa and nephew chocs, but I am absolutely mentally planning to be distracted by toys for my own DC. Doesn't help that partner twitched in the early hours so our kids now have uneven numbers of presents, and I feel it's given me permission to twitch myself. They have plenty. They will love what they have. They don't need more. They will be overwhelmed with too much. I'm pretty skint. I need to repeat these statements over and over.

Pumpkinstace · 09/12/2020 00:26

I twitched and have the uneven present thing.

I might put two in the same category into one wrap.

DP twitches more than I do, drives me mad trying to even things up.

Pumpkinstace · 09/12/2020 00:28

We have one DC that's really hard to buy for, 1 that's super easy to get carried away buying for and 2 that like nothing but fortnite.

Nite-mare

Stompythedinosaur · 09/12/2020 00:35

Yes, quite badly! I bought dd1 an extra toy set with more clothes for another toy I'd already bought. So then I bought dd2 an extra toy too. But then I bought a doll for dd2 to go with that toy, so not I need an extra something for dd1.

I need help!

Boymumzy · 09/12/2020 02:08

I'm new here and glad I finally have a name for this affliction 'The Twitch' - I like it. I'm so twitchy. I have been finished for a while now but I keep buying more stuff, I have to stop. I think it doesn't help that everything has been bought and wrapped for weeks, next year I may leave stockings until last minute so I can go and buy stuff and not feel guilty.

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 09/12/2020 02:15

I normally would by now but this year I haven't even started shopping. Which I was really fine about until this afternoon when I popped into Target and it was completely empty. So, now I have no idea wtf I'm going to buy!

NoWordForFluffy · 09/12/2020 05:14

Not as much as previous years, but there's an extra gift this year, which was expensive (Switch), so there's no budget for twitching! I did buy a couple of books (£5 total) last week, but I've not gone mad!

MysweetAudrina · 09/12/2020 05:37

Yep this week so far:

Hotel chocolat velvetiser
Hotel chocolat hamper
PS4 controller

Scanner20 · 09/12/2020 07:34

Jojo siwa note book and a make up case in Claire's up to 50% off.. I must stop looking

junglepie · 09/12/2020 08:01

oh dear. I am Twitching so badly. And of course once you twitch for one dc you have to then twitch for the others to even it up.....and I have 6dc LOL

HerbErtlinger · 15/12/2020 12:37

I'm panicking about my step son. He's had a big, big gift this year (essentially his own little hangout shed with full electrics and everything) so he knows not to expect much but I'm twitching and think I might have to go pick up a couple of little things to pad it out.
Any ideas for a 12 year old boy for £20-30?

OP posts:
oobedobe · 15/12/2020 18:31

Yes I wrapped the 'sensibly chosen' 'non tat' stocking (sack) gifts for my kids and immediately thought 'oh that's all quite boring' and went to the toy shop today for some traditional silly/fun stocking fillers Xmas Grin

I have now added:
Minecraft stickers, Cute Cat Stickers
Gyroscope toy each
Jacobs ladder toy each
Pusheen key ring blind bag each
Cute eraser sets

At least they were only small twitches!

PinkJam · 16/12/2020 18:26

Twitched on Frozen 2 dobble today as thought it would be nice to have a short game to play on the day.

QuentinInQuarantino · 16/12/2020 18:37

Yep!

Twitched ona beyblade for ds and ordered my lovely SIL who is an immigrant and so very homesick some letterbox flowers.

I think we will end up twitching on some Xmas day games too!

JoanneCofton · 16/12/2020 21:15

Me!!! It’s so bad, placed 3 orders today Blush

I started my shopping way back in September, next year I am 1000% not starting until November because I just keep adding to the piles. I’ve just had everything if ds’s and dp’s out. Ds has 35!!!!! Presents and dp 18 with plus the 3 I’ve ordered to day. It’s absolutely shameful, I can’t just about afford it but have better things to be spending my
Money on. I am 100% done now and GOT to stop
