Christmas treats for yourself

I’m spending Christmas alone. I’m an expat so can’t get home to UK to be with family without quarantine at both ends.

I’ve been dating someone, who is traveling to his home country (no quarantine issues for him). My friends either don’t celebrate Christmas or are seeing family.

So. I want to buy myself Treats.

What would you want? I’m thinking things I’d never normally buy, whether cheap, expensive, pointless-but-you-want-anyway, fancy version of normal stuff that you need anyway, that kinda thing. Anything goes - looking for off the wall, random suggestions of things that I might want.

So far I’ve ordered myself:

  • a cuddly toy
  • Himalayan salt blocks for cooking steak
  • a book I’ve been wanting to read
  • a fancy bottle of brandy
  • lego technic
  • make up brushes

I will be spending the day on the beach with cocktails, and cheese and wine at night.

If you were me, what would you be buying yourself?

Thanks for all your ideas! They all sound fab.

As it’s pay day and Black Friday, Today I’ve ordered:

  • jo Malone candles
  • fluffy throw
  • hairdryer/straighteners holder thingy
  • leather glasses case
  • bath bombs
  • a load of Sephora face / hand / foot masks
  • bought allllllllllll the pigs in blankets I could find and filled the freezer.
  • far too many knickers and 2 nighties from Victoria’s Secret
  • a pair of shoes I’ve been hankering after
  • tesalate sand-free beach towels (I have one already but I wanted a big double one in a different print), with a matching one for new bloke.

I’ve also put a bid on a vintage Gucci bag at an auction so fingers crossed.

Who says solo Christmases can’t be good 😁

Cor!!! OP!!!
I bought myself a Jo Malone knock off candle from Aldi for £3.99, a 2nd hand pack of Tarot cards for £6 from a friend & a new radio for £30.
That has blown my budget right out of the water but I'm well chuffed.
I am a single parent and will be alone except for kids for Xmas.
(they will require quite a few Pigs in blankets though)

Enjoy your lovely treats :)

You did say expensive so I'll share my treats to myself this Christmas. I do receive gifts from my family but one of these little bits is so stupidly extravagant that i actually can't ask for it Grin

Estée Lauder X Disney enamel perfume ornament. Stupid money but I love it and i managed to find a discount

Georg Jensen Möbius ring

Godiva chocolates

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 27/11/2020 20:07

You just can’t go wrong with Georg Jensen! Xmas Smile

LisaLemon · 27/11/2020 20:14

I have a few retired bits and love it!

I'd buy myself Lalique too but that's just a bridge too far - I have 7 pieces and that'll have to do me

Holothane · 27/11/2020 20:17

I’d love some top of the range shower gel any advice.

Daisy829 · 27/11/2020 20:19

Sounds lovely. I would love a day like this. I would spend it drinking lovely fizz, eating yummy snacks, reading, watching Xmas films and snoozing.
For treats I would get
De mellier mini Venice handbag
Tennis bracelet
Nice bath stuff
Book
Really snuggly cardigan.
I’m all about comfort, wine & snacks!
