How and where do you plug them in??? Sorry if it’s a daft question but I need to know!

We have them plugged in indoors - the window can shut with the wire trailing through it.

You could also look at solar/battery powered outdoor lights

Waterproof extension cable goes through by the front door.

Ours are battery operated, on a timer.

Outdoor socket

Ours goes through a sash window- chiselled a tiny channel which is just enough for the cable. Out back we have outdoor socket but not out front.

We've always done the cable through kitchen window (then fully shut) with an outdoor extension box, but we had an outdoor socket fitted earlier this year so it's much neater now
