DC are older now, and instead of the crazy mixup of tree decorations that they have thrown at the tree in the past, I would love to do something a bit more stylish.
I've looked on line, but all the ideas there seem so busy and over the top.
Does anyone have any suggestions for classic, pretty colour themes?
Red and gold is a bit boring, blue and silver is too cold.
If anyone wants to share photos, I'd love that!
I'd love some inspiration. thanks

We usually have autumn colours and a Autum theme, so golds, oranges, red berries, toadstools and acorns and pine cones, we have lots of bird ornaments (the clip on birds made of feathers) and we have a owl at the top of our tree. We don’t really do tinsel and bright coloured decorations though my house is quite colourful 🤣

We have had an autumn display recently, pine cones, different coloured squashes, leaves candles etc.
So I think I'd like something different for Christmas.

But it does sound lovley, Lovemusic33.

This year I’m treating myself to new tree decorations. It’s my first year I will be buying a real tree. I’m buying baubles with traditional designs on them, so robins/ holly/ berries etc I’ve mostly found them on Etsy. I’ve also bought a beautiful fairy for the top of the tree.

We are having gold , red and green in the home office , Swarovski stars in the dining room and anything goes in the lounge . We don’t have tinsel on any of the trees .

17bluebirds · 22/11/2020 17:03

I think I'll skip the tinsel too, it's so awkward and looks messy whenever I do it

We haven’t decorated yet but we’ve bought new decorations for our new home and they are navy, teal, green and a kind of browny gold (close to rose gold but not as pinky). I guess our theme is ‘peacock’ 😂

DS is having our old decorations of red and white but with all of his special decorations as well, so a bit more of a mish mash. That means that our original purple and gold decorations from our first house won’t get used this year 😢 which is a shame as they make me so nostalgic.

Silver, white, ice blue, midnight blue and rose gold in the lounge (the rose gold should hopefully warm up the tree) , mainly red in the dining room, pink and gold in the hall

spidermomma · 22/11/2020 21:03

I have silver. Different blues and pink. Didn't think I'd like this as I always have red but it's really pretty

Stompythedinosaur · 23/11/2020 00:57

I did black and copper one year (pre kids) and it looked lovely.

I'll second this

I'm going to keep it in silver and gold. Doesn't sound really stylish but it brings Xmas mood
