Do you go for a luxury one or something more ordinary?

We use a wartime recipie that was my mother's grandmother's and is mostly potato, carrot and a little apple, no expensive or hard to get dried fruit.

Oh my, my recipe is a few generations old but doesn’t have potato! Could you share it! Carrot in both Christmas cake and Christmas pie though, although most people scoff

Umm, I'll have to see if I can find it. Mum is always in charge of making them, she'd be devastated to lose that duty but I think I do have it written down "just in case". I must make sure I do.
