Fashion trainers for teens

What's trendy these days? Looking for 13 YO DD. I know I could just ask but I don't want to. I want to surprise her with my coolness.

Wow, surprised at the unanimous answer here. I always thought trainers and teenagers tended to vary depending on where you live and what tribe you are in. DD's year were all Adidas Superstars last year and this year it's varying Nikes all with the air bubble and costing £160 - £190 or Vans and Docs. I can't run to £160 on trainers and it's the one time I've been grateful for her hypermobility, as she doesn't feel stable in the Nikes.

You should know that a size 5 in NIKE come up really really small. In fact, all sizes do. My dd is a 3.5 and I got her a size 5 (admittedly a bit big). I was told in a shop years ago to always size up.

I second that, Nike does come up small. My daughter was a 3 but needed a 4.

Air force 1s come up big in my opinion, my son is usually an 8 but his air force are 6.5, im usually a 6.5 but my air force are junior 5.5

@curlycat re the McQueens- was it at the heel they rubbed?

@SierraHotel yep heels had huge blisters and her wee toes as well. She lives in trainers and has never had this with other ones

@curlycat sorry another question! Did she find that her normal size was right with them?

@SierraHotel think that was part of the problem. She has been a 5 for years but felt she probably needed a 5.5 but instead of taking them back she wore them once then never again so if you do but then I'd go up at least a half size
