Ipad or tablet

Our lo (4) loves playing apps like cbeebies, peppa pig etc.
We've come into some money and our buying lo (7) a switch.
4 year old doesn't seem interested in consoles so we thiught about her own ipad. These are so expensive though. I have a kindle fire which is 5 years old and is very slow etc so was a bit put off but realise they might have got a lot better.
So in our situation which would you recommend?

I wouldn't buy an ipad. We have Samsung tablets

I find iPads the most user friendly. I have used a range of tablets but my iPad has been my favourite. You’ll have lots of different opinions though. This is a ridiculously divisive topic.

Unless you all have apple phones etc, I'd go for an android tablet. Our house is all Android. My parents are all apple. Trying to mix the 2 is hard - I really have to concentrate if they ask me to help them out or sort something.

We too buy Samsung, but there are others available.

If you have an iPhone yourself, an iPad is a million times easier, as you can control all the safety and buying settings directly from your phone and share apps to it for free. So quick and easy.

If you were buying for yourself, or a teenager, I would say iPad, but no way would I buy a 4 year old their own.

I would not be buying an expensive ipad for a 4 year old. A cheap android tablet would be as far as I went

Amazon do a children’s edition of their Fire tablet.

I’d just get a kids tablet at that age.
Much prefer iPads but haven’t let mine get one until the Christmas they are 6 or 7, and can take better care of one.

I have a Samsung phone. Lo is very careful with things though. Still dithering a bit 😂

Get an android tablet if you have android phones.

Get a decent rubber case for it.
