Christmas Dec's... Who's with me?!

Ours are up already! My dd nursery put them up after Halloween and she has pestered me into putting ours up! Before her I was a right scrooge!

I'm waiting until the 4 December but six houses on our estate already have theirs up, and there is normally only one at this time of year.

DH & I and DD already have our Christmas bedding on though ......

OP, mine go up during the last weekend of November, because we like to have them up for the whole of December.
I'd be happy having them up now tbh, but DH doesn't want to, and as he does the bulk of the decorating (I can't reach the high ceilings, even on our ladder) I will just have to wait a little longer.

I can't wait to come home from work to twinkly lights etc. It's my favourite time of year

We're making a start this weekend. Just a few bits

Woop go for it. I was going to wait until end of the month, but our town have their lights up now and my DS loves them. I'm quite tempted to put them up on Sunday.

Exterior lights already up. I’ve seen people smiling when they go past. Hopefully it will inspire others to follow 🎄🎅🏽

Yup, this Sunday! Quite a few houses in the neighbourhood are decorated already.

I'm not particularly bothered if people think it's trashy. If they're uncouth enough to say so, they're just as classless as us early decorators.

Completely understand some people thinking it's too early, I'm not offended 😊
If I'm in lockdown for the next few weeks though, I want home to be as festive and cosy as possible

Christmas bed already went on yesterday, the Christmas story book box is out and I've already eaten a box of mix pies, a box of stollen and 2 Lindt Santa's since they came in the shops The trees and other decs are going up at weekend - I need a good 2 days to decorate lol

I’m just laughing at someone coming onto the Christmas board and calling a poster “trashy”. Tis definitely not the season/board for that kind of talk.

My plan is to have a mega tidy up this weekend so that the decorations can go up next weekend.

I’m working my way to it slowly. I’ve taken out the snuggly throws and candles are appearing in all sorts of places. I’ve started using the brushed cotton duvets, pulling the curtains at night and putting on lamps. The hot water bottles and fluffy pyjamas are back. The cat’s bed has been moved from the window to the radiator. There won’t be anything twinkly or glittery until December but it’s distinctly wintry here now.
If I put up the decorations now I’d be jaded by Christmas but I love the slow build up through November. Usually I cook more to fill the freezer, though we won’t need as much now we’re not entertaining. In another week I’ll start writing cards. I think I enjoy the anticipation as much as the actual experience.

That's a bit unnecessary Why do you think that anyway?

I love putting the decs up, usually a couple of weeks before. I will be putting them up earlier this year, but every year I get sick of them gathering dust and want them down as soon as boxing day is finished, so Im hanging on!
