I spent so much energy thinking about what to get everyone else that tonight when dh asked what I’d like I couldn’t come up with anything. There’s no I absolutely need so help me think of something I need! We don’t spend a huge amount on each other at Christmas. I also need to think of something small, around £15ish that dd can get me ( with the help of dh)

All suggestions gratefully received!

@GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER ask for a Kindle!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 12/11/2020 09:30

@LittleEsme - I’ve got a Kindle! I’ve had it for years and use it a lot, but I do still like ‘proper’ books.
But there’s sod all I really want or need, so I told dh this book to save him racking brains. He’s the same re presents, so we’re only doing tokens for each other this year.

There are plenty of others to buy for, inc. 3 x little Gdcs.

Ask him to make you up a pamper hamper, he could include bath bombs, chocolate, face pack, lip balms, book, bubble bath, puzzle book, new mug, nail varnish, hand cream, That sort of stuff. Get loads for your money in the pound shops,

HiyaMeAgain · 12/11/2020 13:43

Could also add a small bottle of wine (how did i forget wine?)

Cutesbabasmummy · 12/11/2020 15:16

It's my birthday on Sunday so for that/Christmas I';ve given a list to my DH:
Fablou city bag in Frapp

Elephant earrings from NOTHS

Shower gel by Philosophy

Neom fragrance oils

Jo Malone Bitter orange cologne (small)

Turtle Doves glove/neckwarmer

An Oodie

New Barak Obama book

DH is lovely but rubbish at buying gifts. Even with a list he might veer off track!

babbi · 12/11/2020 22:32

@BatleyTownswomensGuild. That moved me to tears . What a wonderful present.
You’re absolutely correct to be proud ...
Have a wonderful Christmas when it comes and I wish the best of health when wearing it ,
(Think that might be a Scottish saying for new jewellery )

buckeejit · 12/11/2020 23:13

@BatleyTownswomensGuild aww, that's so lovely ❤️

There was an amazing deal on neom candles on qvc a couple of days ago. I got 6 for £65ish I think. There are still some neom on there & also discounts on total spends bit I reckon they'll do something enticing on Black Friday. I've also bought myself the lovely happiness body lotion. I'm not usually into body lotions but bought this in tk maxx for a song years ago & love it. And the oils set-both going in a diy advent calendar

I'll hope for books, wine, jewellry, food and a board game or jigsaw

It's my birthday in December too, so not only do I have to think of gifts for everyone in my family (for me to give to them and for wider family to give to the kids), I also have to think of Xmas and birthday for me. I start compiling a list as I see or think of things from the end of summer.

On mine
A massage 😭😭
Vouchers for local gorgeous hotel/restaurant for a stay or meal
Georg Jensen earrings (don't think I can bring myself to ask for these, they're really expensive just for silver)
New William Boyd book
Earrings I bought myself from V&A on latest visit - have kept wrapped and presented to DH to give to me at the right time 😂
New jeans
Binoculars for bird watching
An outfit from Sweaty Betty
Socks (maybe from BAM)

I'm not sure if I'll actually ask for all of these, might replace some things with others, but that's my running list at the moment.

Do you do any exercise? I often ask for Sweaty Betty vouchers and hit the sales. Or any eg running accessories? Hiking socks?

I always love browsing the bookshops at this time of year, sometimes there are just beautiful editions of books, or new ones that look great. Or beautiful coffee table books.

Make-up vouchers from your favourite brand, or a new lipstick (my kids bought me a beautiful Mac lipstick one year)?

LittleEsme · 13/11/2020 15:44

I'd quite like Dr Hauschka's facial toner (it's a stunning facial spray).

Or, a 10ml bottle of Rose Essential Oil. I love it but it's so expensive.

Wilma55 · 13/11/2020 15:47

Latest Mary Berry book

BeaLola · 13/11/2020 17:59

Latest Donna Hay cook book - I could just sit & look at the photos (easily pleased Grin)

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 13/11/2020 22:50

I’ve asked for new boots, a hairdryer brush, and some smellies, plus the usual mountains of chocolate

UndertheCedartree · 13/11/2020 23:47

The things I've mentioned are wireless headphones, a couple of notches for my Notch bracelet, Ritual bath/shower products and I always like candles.

CisMyArse · 14/11/2020 00:09

I've asked for earrings from a seller on Etsy and some aromatherapy room fragrance sprays by Pêr Aromatics. They're stunning - essential oil bliss in a bottle.

Wouldn't mind an Apple Watch but that's an expense we cannot stretch to at the moment.

JinglesWish · 14/11/2020 07:21

I’m so excited. This year, I’ve asked DH for:

  • cashmere star scarf in grey from M&S (so pretty)
  • the no1 large gift tin from Edinburgh Skin Co (looks beautifully packaged and I love small batch soap and lip balms and there’s a hand cream bar I’m excited to try)
  • a rose gold Chilly’s bottle
  • Harry Potter trivial pursuit (not sure who I can play with though as DC are small and DH has no knowledge of HP 😂)

I may add some nice chocolate, some Christmas socks and a book or two

Doordine · 14/11/2020 07:29

Bath oil and bath salts from neals yard, scented candle, reed diffuser, pyjamas, skincare products, nice chocs, nice flavoured gin, notebook

Doordine · 14/11/2020 07:53

Just added fitbit, yoga mat and 2021 calender. Hoping he plumps for a Tom Hardy one 😂

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 14/11/2020 10:28

This year I am not going to ask for anything, interested to see what he comes up with!

NotMeekNotObedient · 16/11/2020 09:36

Bath Salts
Neom essential oil
Make up I need - Nars bronser, Bobbi Brown corrector.
Posh patterned robe - silk or cotton for the summer
M&S PJs
Silk knickers - if I can find some to link DH to, ideally a pack of.
Books - Villanelle (Killing Eve), a Margaret Atwood & a Laura Bates ones.
Cuticle nippers
