Outdoor Trampoline - anyone got one?

Thinking of getting a trampoline for DC for Christmas. Feels a bit extravagant as I know they are expensive but this year the garden has been so important for them and realised how much they prefer to be outside! They also always love them at friends houses.

Questions:

  1. What size? Argos do a 8ft one for £100 which doesn't seem too bad. Kids are 5 and 3. Is 8ft big enough? Would quite like them to be able to go on together so not constantly policing turn taking.
  1. If you have one, does it get used regularly enough to justify it taking up the space in the garden?

Hi, We have a spring free trampoline and although expensive it has been used so much over the last 5 years. Its so safe and my children have had hours of fun and I'm sure they'll use for many more years.

Another vote for spring free!

Our DGCs had a great time for years with their trampoline. They are now 17 and 15 so their dad has rehomed it.

Reading the thread I am reminded of the many AIBU threads from posters complaining about the neighbours’ kids disturbing their peace with the noisy springs or bouncing high enough to look into their garden.

I am sure your kids would not do this. Halloween Grin

We have one, my 3 and 6 year old don’t play on it much because of ‘spiders’ we have taken it down for winter not sure if I’ll put it back up in the spring, the kids in the garden behind ours play on theirs morning until night I think it depends on the child. We get loads of use out of our slide and pool.

Biggest that you can reasonably fit in your garden and afford.
We have a 12 foot one which we have had for 7 years and it is still great - got a LOT of use over Lockdown. (Would really like a 14 footer)

All three of us go on at a time (11, 13 and 44 year old) I am apparently essential as my extra bulk makes them bounce higher. No injuries in the last 7 years, so far we have been lucky.

We have had to replace the net and the base and we might need to replace the springs in the Spring.

You need a netted one - don't understand why people would even consider one without unless it is dug in.
