Fake trees for this year?

Our normal seller won't be doing trees this year and we have decided reluctantly go down the fake route. Apart from Balsam Hill which is normally recommended on here (and has some terrible Trust Pilot reviews atm) where else is good?

M&S?

We got a gorgeous one from Tesco a few years ago. With Clubcard double up it cost £40 in vouchers!

I'd probably look at your local garden centre too. They are staying open and you can have a look at them made up.

Wilko seems very good

TrickyD · 05/11/2020 17:49

Christmas Tree World trees are the same quality as BH, but much cheaper.
We are delighted with ours, an 8ft Woodland Pine, and DS liked it so much he has bought a slightly smaller version.

Thank you - loads to look at.

Could you not get a real tree from a different vendor?

BigSisLittleSisCardboardBox · 05/11/2020 22:22

I’m in Scotland but the Christmas trees are already out there! We live on a main road and during October holidays at about 3pm the Christmas tree lorry would drive past and we’d all scream! I’m sure you’d be able to get from elsewhere.

Yes, we probably would, but a lot of usual places won't be open and we thought we'd try a fake one.

@TrickyD thanks so much for that recommendation. We paid about £110 for a 5 feet tree from Christmas Tree World (the price seems to shoot up for a six foot one). We got one of the very realistic ones, so a bit more expensive. It looks great and I don't think we will bother to buy a real one for a few years despite this one being a stand in for a real one. Smile

The only thing that worries me is the impact of plastic on the climate, which is a biggy, but if we use it for many years I am hoping we will off-set that.

Got a beautiful 7ft tree from Sainsbury’s a few days ago. Reduced down to £45

LittleRa · 06/12/2020 16:14

I had a slim 5ft artificial one from Sainsbury’s for the past few years, it’s lasted well and is still nice, but I wanted a bigger one. I took that one into my school (primary school teacher) to put up in my classroom. New one is from Wilko, 7ft pre-lit and much bushier. I’m happy with it. My partner’s Mum works at Wilko so she got it with staff discount. I did toy with a real one, we always had them as kids, but I wanted to put it up a bit earlier and was worried about a real one not lasting til end December plus I’m 6 months pregnant and couldn’t be arsed hoovering the needles daily Grin
