Stocking without Primark

Kez0777 · 05/11/2020 12:26

Every year I aace my TopCashback vouchers to do my 2 DD's (11&9) a primark stocking.
The commented at the weekend their favourite thing about Christmas is their stockings!
I usually get things like fluffy socks, hot water bottle, face masks, mugs and things like that and of course chocolate.
Primark and flying tiger are my go to shops but if Primark doesn't re open and flying tiger is a no as it's too far to travel in a pandemic where could I get things on line?
I can't think of many online shops to get great cheap stocking bits

tiger had an online site a few days ago, that seems to have gone down, oerhaps, under the pressure of hoardes of mumsnetters! It might be worth checking on now and then to see if they get it back up.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 05/11/2020 12:41

B&m and home bargains both have stuff like that (and I think are still open?)

Vickles20 · 05/11/2020 12:41

I have similar ages to your daughters. I went to B&M bargains to get their Xmas themed face and foot masks. I couldn’t find all the ones so found them on eBay (they are £1 in the shop itself so there are more):-

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/193708235313

Then, from Superdrug I got these hair masks and caps online again:-

www.superdrug.com/search?text=Bear+fruits+

Then these hair turbans from new look online:-

www.newlook.com/uk/womens/accessories/beauty/white-argan-oil-infused-hair-towel/p/655130499

New look also had some nice make up remover pads, beauty hair bands aswell.

Boots had these online. I got the nail files, hand lotion pot, hand sanitizers and they do Christmas tissues and Reeses stuff:

www.boots.com/boots-3ply-tissues-cube-10286374

www.boots.com/sitesearch?searchTerm=Reece’s%20

And finally from Card Factory I got these in store but they’re now online:-(Chocolate remote control, chocolate credit card, white chocolate melting snowman for hot choc, phone charger Christmas lights (usb) and other things:-

Hope that helps Smile

Lockdown is 'at least four weeks' so it could be extended like the first lockdown was, that started as only three weeks and lasted months.
Brunt0n · 05/11/2020 12:43

I like Hema and Rex London as well for stocking filler type gifts

Milkshake7489 · 05/11/2020 12:47

ASDA! They are my go to for last minute gifts I've forgotten about Grin. They usually has some affordable fluffy socks and nice novelty mugs. Obviously they do chocolates and I'm sure I've bought face masks from there too.

For hot water bottles maybe try Amazon?

Vickles20 · 05/11/2020 12:47

Yes, and thelegohoverer mentioned there’s the new online Tiger store. I went instore and got loads (Christmas popping candy, mini candy cane lollies, Christmas planner, fun charging iPhone cables doughnut and rainbow style, plastic Santa snack pots, a5 light boxes with Christmas additional stickers, Christmas baking journal and Christmas baking jotter pad baking challenge pad, Christmas modelling clay or slime. I can take photos if you like. Let me know.

The online store has only just gone live. They’re working frantically adding lines. So keep on trying over the next week or so. An acquaintance runs it.

steppemum · 05/11/2020 13:18

Large supermarkest like Asda have loads of this stuff, and they are open for the whole store in rl and thay are open online.

I went in yesterday and got lots of the chocolate bits (santas, chocolate orange, choc coins)
They have a huge make up area with stuff like lip salve, nail varnish.
They have kicthen section with cheap mugs etc and clothing for the fluffy socks.
Thye also have a huge christmas section.

Sainsburys and tesco do the same. Thye are all pretty cheap and cheerful, not pricey

steppemum · 05/11/2020 13:24

yes the tiger store is online, but it has only been open for a few days and seems to have crashed. Keep your eyes on it!

uncomfortablydumb53 · 05/11/2020 17:09

I recently discovered Hema which have a nice variety of items IIRC They're a Dutch company

Kez0777 · 05/11/2020 17:09

Thank you all so much.
My thinking is if we stay in lockdown and shops like primark don't open. And even if they do there's such a short time to do CBR shopping and I wouldn't want to go when it's too busy as I work with vulnerable children.
Online tiger is the dream so I'm going to definitely keep an eye out for that 🤩

dh is Dutch and I LOVE Hema.

Was delighted when it came to UK. Now I can order my SinterKlaas chocolate letters in UK!

Just to say you pronounce it Hay - ma not Heema.
Just saying, as all the Brits seem to say Heema

steppemum · 06/11/2020 09:42

I have just been on to Hema and ordered a basket of goodies! Thanks for the reminder

Nonamesavail · 06/11/2020 10:10

I think it will be open by then.

UndertheCedartree · 06/11/2020 10:57

You could have a look in pound shops or Wilko as they will remain open. If you hunt around you can get some good bits in pound shops.

CovidClara · 06/11/2020 14:17

The online tiger store is closed. I received this

We have some good news and then some more good news!

The good news is that your order is being picked and will be dispatched soon.

The other good news is that due difficulties of the operation, this service is longer in effect so we will be refunding your purchase.

Just to confirm, you are getting your order for free. Please enjoy the products and hopefully see you in store very soon!

Any questions regarding your order then please get in touch

bit of a win-win.

I assume they didn't have the set up to back up the flood of orders from mn.

Shame, I would have liked to order stuff

user686827 · 06/11/2020 16:14

Rex London and HEMA.

MarshmallowManiac · 06/11/2020 16:37

I would agree about Rex London
www.rexlondon.com/stocking-fillers-children

ritzbiscuits · 06/11/2020 19:58

Was in Tesco today and saw a lot of stocking filler gifts in the Christmas section. I'd also look at B&M and Home Bargains if you have them in your area
