Practical Gift Ideas for 3 Year Old

So, I'm not being a scrooge but with lockdown and everything else my DD has had far more toys throughout the year than usual. I have got her some toys for Christmas but can anyone suggest some practical gift ideas just to give her some more things to unwrap? Smile

Clothes, stuff for her room, character duvet cover, light shade, Selection box, books.

Little daft things, bell for her bike, a new cup, toothbrush, backpack for general stuff, kids towel for swimming.

Hair brush
Character bath towel
Fluffy dressing gown
Plastic glass for drinks with one of those connected straws that curves round and round the glass
Bath bomb/matey bubble bath
Consumables - sticker book, paint, etc

Craft things
Nice plates/cups
Character pants
If lockdown eases then membership to zoo/farm park
Yoto player

Not sure how practical it is, but my DC loves kites.

Clothes in a bigger size
Fun toothbrush
New towel
New pants/socks
Toiletries bag with new shampoo, soap, sponge etc. Might feel 'grown up. Not that anyone's going away though Sad

Cold or wet-weather gear (hat, scarf, gloves, wellies, umbrella)?

BikeRunSki · 02/11/2020 16:22

Pyjamas
Slipper socks
Dressing gown

I've been thinking the same OP so following this thread.
DC will be getting new wellies and fluffy dressing gown, kids electric toothbrush and 1 toy (undecided on which yet).
I'd like to do a stocking this year so thinking edibles & accessories, avoiding plastic tat and want things that will be used/are needed anyway- hoping to get some ideas from this thread!

Books
Consumable craft stuff like paints, paper, etc.
Dressing gown and slippers

Don't worry about too many things to open though. They easily get overwhelmed.

Also things that gowithtoys she has.. so extra Happyland figures if she has that, an extra train or bridge etc for a wooden railway, clothes for a Barbie etc.

My son just got a thomas tooth brush set, which times how long you brush your teeth... you press the button and a little train goes in a circle around the cup and through a tunnel... he loves it and its such a practical gift!

Lovemusic33 · 02/11/2020 16:59

A nice backpack, with favourite character on it or smiggle back pack?

BikeRunSki · 02/11/2020 17:22

Fluffy onesie

Equimum · 02/11/2020 17:51

Mine are a bit bigger, but they are getting some practical things that would also be suitable:

  • swim towel, bag & goggles
  • snuggle blanket
  • Character onesies

Foss and Rock do cute reward charts
So many other good suggestions on here. Just nice versions of things you think will be useful really :)

What a brilliant idea. I have just ordered it for my little one. Smile

What about craft stuff because you use it up and it keeps them occupied.

DS has a sports water bottle which he loves.

I think books are a good gift because you get fed up of reading the same ones.

When my DD was that age, a relative got her a gorgeous Cath Kidson backpack. It's child-sized and has been used so much over the years. I've just bought one for my 3yr old niece for Christmas as she has an older DD and between them they have so much stuff!!. She will use when going out for the day, to visit family, to playdates etc.
