So not into the ones that give you a paperclip and a spinning top. My kids not been fussed on the wind up toy ones before or even the musical ones. Any others people have seen? I'd not bother but I think there might be an outcry on christmas day if I didn't get any - they are primary age so can't get boozy ones, and don't want to make them myself.

The tin ones are a nice idea but no snap
I used to fill little gift boxes with a few table sweets (re-used the boxes)

Crackers always seem to be a but meh , I've tried the usual M&S , JL even some of the Tom Smith ones .
Coveted the ££ Costco ones but never bought them.
Party Poppers from Lakeland were much better (pull the cord , huge bang , lots of thin paper strings) but not near candles !

I realised I didn't need crackers one year when I did my table setting in gold , bought gold crackers ........and found them in the cupboard mid January Xmas Blush

The Ridleys magic trick crackers went down very well with my family.

Seeing as we are (fingers crossed) hoping to have an outdoor summer Christmas I’ve also found some different ones at www.crackersltd.co.Uk. Now I have too many choices!!!!

AliceMcK · 20/07/2021 20:30

I never know what we are getting. I always buy what ever is in the January sales and completely forget what I buy so it’s usually a surprise when I dig them out 😂 I have a feeling I may have got some trivial pursuit and guess who ones for this year 🤔

I’m the past my DCs have loved the wind up toys, we have quite a collection of them now and it’s tradition to race them on the dining table each year.

You could always make your own filling them with what everyone wants.

When all the family gets together for Christmas, we do fill your own crackers but the adults do secret santa for it with a £5 limit for the filling.

I always buy mine just after Christmas when they're all reduced so always have decent items inside

Divineswirls · 21/07/2021 09:20

I buy them for the next Christmas obvs Grin

I second the dunelm recyclable ones. Silly glasses.

BaconAndAvocado · 25/07/2021 16:18

I always buy cheap, but attractive, crackers and add a scratch card to each one.

I got nice rose gold ones, I think Robin Reed, off Amazon. . . because it's all got to tie in with the colour theme, you see, it's just gotta!

Sorry if I'm repeating anyone else's post, but the best we ever had were from the RSPB and each one had one of their enamel bird pin badges inside. This was about 3 years ago, not seen them since, so I'll have to make my own this year.
