Outside decorations which don't need electricity.

For obvious reasons, I'd like to really decorate the front of the house this year for Christmas and cheer up the street on what has been a generally depressing year for most people. Problem is I don't have loads of spare cash or an outside electricity socket. Anyone got any ideas for nice decorations with that in mind? x

There are lots of battery operated lights that you can use outside.

You don't need an outside socket. Extension cord though a window works fine. Led lights don't cost much to run. Thing is outdoor decs are lit for a reason. So they can be seen.
Not sure what you can put out that's unlit really
Plastic reindeer? An unlit tree? Bit of a stumper

Dont use battery lights. You will be changing the batteries every 3 days. Some solar lights are ok but not fantastic in winter.

Would a nice window display be any good?

If you've got a columnar conifer, something like this?

I have battery lights round my house and they do the whole of December without a battery change.

They were cheap LED ones from Aliexpress

I think DH might kill me if I got the giant Christmas gnome!

Will look at some LED battery decorations thank you.

We use LED battery ones. They have a built in timer so they come on for 8 hours from the same time every day. One set of (rechargeable) AA batteries lasts a fortnight in them. Got them from The Range.
