Any ideas for gifts for DS. Main present sorted (surf board). Need ideas for some little bits and bobs, ideally not gaming related (loves it though).

How about some led lights for his bedroom? Or a rubix cube?

CarolEffingBaskin · 27/10/2020 23:58

I own a 12yo boy Grin He’s getting a mini fridge for his room, pop vinyls, new cycle helmet, dressing gown/onesie, giant box of biscoff biscuits, huge 1kg jar of Nutella (should add, he is a waif!). His main present is hopefully going to be the PlayStation VR, so will probably grab a game or two for that too. Then cheap earphones (he loses them), few packs of cards because he’s got into tricks, toothbrush, pants, socks, lifetime supply of deodorant and so on for his stocking.

Fancy stainless steel water bottle, lava lamp, dartboard, touch screen gloves, wireless phone charger, gooseneck phone/tablet holder, hot chocolate bombs, bath bombs, books, colour changing lightbulb, board game, deck of cards, 3D puzzle, baseball cap or hat, hoodie, Rokpod speaker, Ugears model, tennis racquet, Lego set, scratch off world map poster, memory foam pillow, chess set, acrylic paint-by-numbers. 😊

My DS will be 12 by Christmas. In terms of non-main gifts, he so getting a penknife and whittling book, an escape room game, set of books, Hype hoodie, burrito blanket, guitar related bits and some smellies/grooming stuff. He loves his LED strip lights in his room so that’s a good shout.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 29/10/2020 19:28

He’s also asked for dumbbells!

lljkk · 29/10/2020 19:30

metal slinky. Omg, My 12 yr old can't stop playing with one I dug out from somewhere. I spend a spell every day untangling it for him.

Also themed Uno -- we're getting The Office cards. DS is getting stuff related to the sport he does, too. And chocolate of course.

Madcats · 29/10/2020 19:32

If he is into rugby, try some stuff from oddballs (pants, socks bobble hat etc.).

Gel hand warmers and a hot drink flask?

What mini fridge did you go for?
thewitchesofprestwick · 29/10/2020 19:43

A cycle tool kit so far, liking the idea of a lava lamp. Watching with interest!

NeedingCoffee · 29/10/2020 19:53

Lock picking kit was hugely popular with a 12 year old last year. Lots on amazon.

Fridgeandkitchen · 29/10/2020 22:24

Following this as I have a 12 year old boy too x

NotYouAgainTom · 31/10/2020 08:59

I’ve got an 11 year old and have done the mini fridge, Simpsons Vans, Lego, box set of books he likes, oodie, rugby shirt, Switch game, board game, a few themed bits for his room including cushions and alarm clock.

Jroseforever · 31/10/2020 11:14

The mini fridge... what do you envisage him putting in it?

Fridgeandkitchen · 31/10/2020 12:38

DS gets the little mini cans of fizzy drink. Those could go in a mini fridge.

LadyCatStark · 31/10/2020 13:48

DS is 11 and is another one wanting a mini fridge, I think they’re the present of the year for this age. He intends to put cans of pop, chocolate and grapes (he gets through punnets and punnets of the things 😂) in it. He has a spare bedroom as a “lounge” so it’ll go in there.

He also wants a surf skateboard, new snowboard boots, switch games, a new BMX kit, Simpsons Vans, a Superdry hoodie, paints and brushes.

We’ve also got him a table tennis set (to occupy us during the inevitable lockdown), massive bar of Cadbury’s, teddy bear bedding and a new bike helmet.

GinFuzzy · 31/10/2020 14:13

DS12 loves his LED strip lights and mini fridge! This year he's getting a new monitor for his PC and the new Call of Duty, he'd also like a solar phone charger.

What is an led strip light?
Jroseforever · 31/10/2020 15:35

I’m thinking about getting in of those wall lights shaped in writing for my son. Like “Relax” or similar
Anyone have experience of this?

LadyCatStark · 31/10/2020 15:49

Love that idea @Jroseforever!

haba · 02/11/2020 14:52

Mine turns 12 just after Christmas
I'm a bit stumped tbh!
So far all I've got him is a big toblerone, which is his favourite.

Fridgeandkitchen · 02/11/2020 15:12

DS has LED strip lights. They sit along his skirting board and go right round his room. They were from Amazon and cost about £15.
