Christmas Eve/1st Dec box for grown ups

Has anyone put together one of these types of boxes for adults? What types of things did you put in? Was it well received?

I’ve never bought into the whole Christmas Eve box, though my DD’s do get new Christmas PJ’s however with husband very likely to still be deployed in tempted to make an adult one for myself to enjoy...

Maybe some St Eval tee tree lights (love their Christmas range) a posh bottle of red, luxurious bubble bath, new PJ’s...

Will be following for any more ideas.

I'm doing a christmas eve box for the family this year. DS is one, so essentially it's an adult box plus a board book and santa plate.

I'm thinking PJ's, a bottle of mulled wine and some nice snacks that we wouldn't normally have. Maybe a box of Lindor or Malteser truffles, something like that. You could put in a scented candle? Or some nice Christmassy mugs/ glasses?

This is a great idea, so good I’m going to steal it. I’ve only ever read about and never tried myself for the dc as I don’t fully understand them. Didn’t grow up celebrating Christmas really.

Are they for 1st and the 24th or just the one?

What do they typically include for children? Can it just be converted? If in doubt I’d say a mini champagne makes everything better!

I'm making a joint one for me and my DP for the first time this year. I'm planning on putting in pjs for me, pj bottoms for DP, slipper socks, Dissarano, some nice chocolates and Christmas mugs.

@RubyFakeLips - I make my DC a Christmas Eve box for the 24th - contains things like pjs, bubble bath, a book, a DVD, a tree ornament and some sweets/chocolate.

We have our own tradition on 1st December - I make them a 'Christmas breakfast' - Christmas tree crumpets, fruit and mini mince pies and gingerbread men. I get out their Christmas plates, cups and mugs to use. I give them their Advent calendars and some craft things to use throughout December. I also put Christmas bedding on their beds! I decorate the living room so when they come down on 1st December it is all Christmasy!

I like this idea! I’d go with 1st December then they could get some use out of the Christmassy stuff. I would put in:
Personalised festive mug
A fancy bauble
A wintery jigsaw
A book set around Christmas time
Hot chocolate
Florentines
Bottle of fizz/ their favourite booze

Might do one just for myself .

You’ve just inspired me to do one for my grown up son and his GF!
I’m going to get a Christmas blanket (for their sofa or bed) some Christmas mugs and hot chocolate Selection. An advent calendar each. Some Yankee candle votives in festive scents. Some nibbles and alcohol. In a nice box.

We do Christmas Eve boxes and it’s all adults , so far this year for my sister I’ve got
Fluffy socks
A small reindeer ( she has a collection for round the tree)
A mug
Speciality teas
A Christmas bath bomb and there will also be chocolate of some kind .
It’s much the same for my ds and dd but with different drinks etc .

I'm going to do one for DH and I, my DC are mainly older and frankly I have too many of them for this sort of commitment to start now, its bad enough doing the stockings and present buying!

I have been putting together a food and drink advent calendar for DH and bought myself a beauty one, so we will get those on 1st December.

Other ideas I've had (probably won't use them all):

Voucher for month's subscription service we don't have e.g. AppleTV or MGM
Mini Champagne Bottles
Christmassy showergel/body products
Christmas Coffee/Tea
Candle
Christmas jam
DVD of one of the old christmas films we like, I'm thinking Christmas in Connecticut
Box of posh truffles
Slippers
Posh crisps

we have one, its just prosseco and sweets really... then we eat and drink them while we 'santa' (set up the room for the next morning)

We do it - Christmas PJ's, a nice little bottle of something, a quiz or something, a Christmas glass, some nice chocolates . . .

Oh, and christmas slippers or socks. . .

Got a novelty double jumper with 2 head holes for MIL and FIL the year they spent xmas eve here. That went down well!

Id go with some sort of game or selfie sticks.

If I were doing one for DH, I would put in: warm tartan PJs, a bottle of spiced rum or smoky whisky, a bottle of claret, some smoked salty almonds or cashews, dark chocolate florentines, some fancy crispbreads and a chunk of stilton, a CD (he still doesn't stream music) of classic festive music.

I'd definitely give them at the start of advent.

If I were receiving one, I'd love any of these:
a box of fresh clementines
a net of fresh walnuts
a bauble for the tree
a cosy crime novel
a festive candle - cinnamon and orange or frankincense or fir, bay and rosemary
cosy slipper socks
new PJs
ribbon, scissors, gift tags and sellotape!

I wouldn't want anything sugary. There's enough of that stuff about at this time of year.

I do a Christmas Eve box, sort of for me and DH every year. Always include pyjamas (not Christmassy ones, just ones I know we both like), some snacks, usually chocolate and a game we can play together. Used to sometimes include a DVD instead of the game but we have Amazon Prime and Netflix so not bothered with that for the past few years.
I also get us an advent calendar each, usually non chocolate. DH loves his new PJs and advent calendar each year (we’re both in our 40s)
