Game for three recommendations please

I always buy my niece (11yo) a game for Christmas. This year due to Covid Confused her Christmas will be her and her parents- so I would like to get her a game that can be easily enjoyed by three people.

I myself am in a family of three, although my DS is older at 14- and I know that trying to play a game that is best played by loads of people when there are only three of you can make you feel a bit fed up!!

We are all used to playing together but that's much harder atm so I'm looking for recommendations for games that are really good with three people.

She has labyrinth, Dobble, exploding kittens, a dog bingo game and uno.

Recommendations would be super please.

No suggestions but it’s true that 3 just isn’t enough sometimes to enjoy a board game. Will watch with interest as I have a similar present to buy.

Cluedo, diamant, trivial pursuit?

It very much depends on what kind of games she enjoys. Does she like things which are fast paced and fun or things where you have to think and plan? Catan is a brilliant game for ages possibly 12 to adult. Ticket to Ride would also possibly fit the bill. It's easy to learn and good fun but there is a bit of strategy involved as well as luck!

@catwithflowers great question- I think she would prefer fast paced and fun.

We love rocket to ride, pandemic and Risk but I think these might not appeal to my niece as much as something less in depth.

5 second rule is a good one if she likes quick games

Ticket to Ride - Nordic Countries! 3 player game, easy to learn, exciting because it's not apparent who is going to win till the absolute end, and bonus that the Nordic countries version is gorgeous and Christmassy looking!

We are a 3 too and it’s a struggle as one dd doesn’t always want to play. I have bought I saw it first but I think it’s aimed at younger children, my dd2 likes where’s wally so thought she might like this.

Things like monopoly are a bit rubbish with less than 4 players. Things like connect 4 and jenga are good for 2 players.

We have that lovely ‘I saw it first’ game. It’s good for 8 yo DS.
