Advent calendars

I have been the last mother in the world to keep giving my kids old fashioned advent calendars with just pictures in. They are all feeling pretty flat about the thought of Christmas this year since we probably won't be able to spend it with family, so I thought I might treat them to special advent calendars this year. I wanted somethi g more than a standard choc one but without blowing the bank. I have dd14, DS 10 and Dd10. Any suggestions?
Thanks

You are not the last mother - I still give mine picture calendars and they love them!

However this year I have also treated them to a fancy one. For my DD a Crayola one and my DS a Pokemon figure one. In the past they have also had a Lego one and Playmobil one which were really nice. Hope they enjoy whatever you choose.

There’s a Percy pig one and a naked marshmallow one.

A pokemon one if one of your dc's are into it, smiggle one, bodyshop small one or lego have a few to choose from.
B&M had some nice sweet & chocolate ones.

I do a picture one too! We have nativity ones so at least a bit of religious reminder amongst all the snowmen/father Christmas/reindeer stuff!

GunsAndShips · 16/10/2020 09:43

We still do picture ones.

I do covet a Lakeland Nativity one though.

I’ve got DS10 a Naked Marshmallow one with a burner to toast them on, DD10 a Next Magical Advent calendar but am struggling with other DS10. He loves Fortnite so will probably go with that.

Thanks, I'll take a look at all those. I tell my kids they are lucky. When I was young my sister and I had the same advent calendars every year. They were left under heavy books all year to make the doors shut and then swapped to the other sibling😂😂

I make one for mine to share. I have little hessian bags that I’ve numbered and I fill with their favourite Xmas chocolates, and on some days they get bigger chocolate treats. We live abroad, so nice, branded chocolate is rare and they miss it, as it’s expensive to get here so not something they’ll often have now.
So they really appreciate it during December!

There's a pork crackling one.
