Reusable fabric crackers

I’m thinking about making some, but would like to hear the opinions of those who have them already. Are they as good as they seem? Apart from the sustainability, I like the idea of being able to make them a bit wider as I’m running out of ideas for small items that will fit inside. I wouldn’t necessarily want to have a snap inside.

How do you make them?

Some are just a fabric tube with a cardboard inner to give it rigidity, tied at each end with ribbon, so that the gift can be inserted and taken out when you “pull” it. Some are more complicated as they are made in two parts and come apart in the middle when pulled, so slightly more realistic. The main point of them is that they can be used year after year with no waste.

I'm making some this year, when schools break up on the 18th (I have no time beforehand). They're basically two fabric tubes, one slightly bigger than the other, with Velcro in the middle.

Here's a link

They're reusable, can be the size you want. I'm sure you could glue them rather than sewing, not everyone has the same skills.

I'm in Spain and can buy neither crackers no the snaps, so I make do.

I may even make paper hats to put in them this year...

You're welcome. I hope it's useful.

I wonder how mine will turn out...
