DD is a mixture of obsessed with all things pink & sparkly, & the muckiest little mud monster you're likely to see in public...

She's getting a sparkly eyeshadow set (we've always let her have eyeshadow in lieu of facepaints, which she's allergic to). The previous set were a bit neon!
Unicorn stuff, she's obsessed.
Books. Naughtiest unicorn, Dogman.
A Beano annual & the Christmas large edition of the comic
Glow stars for her room
A build your own dinosaur skeleton thing
Little dinosaur lego set (also obsessed with dinosaurs)
Jigsaws. Featuring unicorns or cute baby animals. Or dinosaurs. Hmm
DH is contemplating buying her a new tablet as her kindle is basically dead.
Hair stuff. We always buy her hair stuff.

@Autumngoldleaf what is a roblox subscription? I've been adamant about not spending real money on robux so far.

Dd will be 7.5. She wants surprises, have bought a scooter from decathlon & just now contemplating getting her a phone-more for photos & games than an actual phone but may end up getting a sim so she can WhatsApp grandparents etc

Redwinestillfine · 15/10/2020 23:39

O G Dolls clothes, Harry potter dolls, Harry potter stuff, stationery, science kits, nail varnish, and books

Autumngoldleaf · 15/10/2020 23:46

Buck, roblox has been our saviour during lock down and dd was desperate for roebuck

I was dead agaisnt it but... Actually the games are very good and teach them.
I asked around in rl and asked on here and I was persuaded to buy her some.
The sky didn't fall in Grin and as people said, it's like 5 pounds on a magazine of tat they want for the toy but never read..

There are different levels of costs so we initially used the cheapest one as a bribe to work. (school work) then when she's done exceptionally well we also reward her with the cheapest amount. It's really good and is teaching her about money and budgeting.

For her bday she will get about £20 worth.

But for Xmas we thought we would buy monthly robux for her, for about 6 months.

And as pp said, the game, the social interaction etc and the fun it's given her... Perhaps they do deserve someone money... The people who work it?

Following as my DD is turning 8 next month so I need ideas for both birthday and Christmas .... although I think she would be happy if I just got her younger brother's room ready so he would p*ss off 😂

buckeejit · 16/10/2020 08:10

@Autumngoldleaf thanks for that - do you buy vouchers like an iTunes gift card or something? I can complain a bit if Santa gets them! I agree that it was our saviour too & happy to pay but some of her friends get £10-£20 a week & don't want her always wanting more 😬

She's anti HP as her big bro loves it so much so she refuses to read it!

Autumngoldleaf · 16/10/2020 08:20

Yes you can buy vouchers, and card in smiths I think..
Yes 2o a week to much for us

stressbucket1 · 16/10/2020 08:30

We are getting DD8
Kids kindle book reader
Lego
Plus she wants some hot wheels stuff.

Last year she got
HP sprocket photo printer
Gravitrax set
They were her favourites

Jenniferturkington · 16/10/2020 19:18

Lol dolls
A football shirt
Norris nuts merchandise
Deadly 60 type books (predators are her thing!)
Doll clothes
A jellycat cuddly toy

She still plays with toys a lot but is also in to YouTube and roblox so lots of options for her thankfully.
