Has anyone got these and also the ones that come with an I phone?

The ones that come with a phone don’t stay in DS ears. They fall out. AirPods look like they will be the same. Can anyone confirm or let me know if AirPods are a different shape? They are a lot of money if they won’t stay in! Thanks.

They are a different shape and they stay in. They aren’t particularly comfortable though, my charging is unreliable too and for me they were an expensive waste of money

Chasingsquirrels · 11/10/2020 08:39

Ds had some for Christmas last year and I think they are his most used present ever, he loves them.
His don't fall out.

Are you asking if they are the same shape as wired apple ear buds? I think very similar - but they were ds's ear bud of choice for comfort, hence going for AirPods instead of a cheaper version.

My DS has them he’s had no problems. E wears them to the gym & has got them synched in with his Xbox. He loves to ppl p

Sorry that posted too soon. Was meant to say he really loves them no problems with them he’s had them a year x

BikeRunSki · 11/10/2020 08:42

They fall out of my ears, but so do most earbud things.. I must have weird ears.

hiredandsqueak · 11/10/2020 08:44

Dd has some and they are probably one of her most used gifts. She has no problems with them falling out. She doesn't like the ones that come with an iphone though, says they are uncomfortable.

Ikeameatballs · 11/10/2020 08:49

DP got me some for my birthday. I wasn’t sure that I’d use them but they are great for running and listening to music and talking on my iPhone hands free. They’ve never come out of my ears.

Thanks all for your responses.

I hated the ones that came with iPhones, completely unusable for me. Apple pods are great though. I love mine

Youngatheart00 · 11/10/2020 09:20

Have a look at Powerbeats Pro. Sound quality is excellent, also wireless, but have an ear hook around them which keeps them in ear. I love them

Thimbleberries · 11/10/2020 09:25

Airpods Pro are apparently different than the previous versions of Airpods. I've just got some and am trying them out. Most earbuds fall out of my ears as I have ridiculously small ears. But so far these stay in OK on the smallest size tips (you get 3 sizes to choose from in the box). They are also returnable within 14 days at the Apple Store, so if they don't fit, you can bring them back - not sure if they have a longer Christmas return period, perhaps (or you could get them at John Lewis, as they have a longer return period, though I don't know if they take returns on things like this). (Apple Store also price matches John Lewis or other physical shops).

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 11/10/2020 09:34

AirPods are amazing, worth every penny. I wouldn’t go back to any other kind now and I’ve had issues with fitting in the past as others fall out.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 11/10/2020 09:36

I have them and so do both DDs, we all love them and have no issues with falling out

MobLife · 11/10/2020 09:42

There are much much better quality wireless earbuds out there than airpods-have a look at Sony and Sennheiser

ApolloandDaphne · 11/10/2020 09:48

My DDs and DH have AirPods and love them. I can't keep them in and can't use the ones that come with the iPhone either. I have BeatsX Bluetooth ones with the smallest insert and I love them. They mostly stay in but if they come out they are attached by wire round the back of my neck so I don't lose them.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 12/10/2020 19:22

My eldest DS has the AirPod pro which he loves
Middle and youngest DS's have the AirPods They both use them in the gym
The AirPod pro's are noise cancelling hence more expensive

BiddyPop · 12/10/2020 20:23

DD got a pair of Skull Candy wireless ones last Christmas (as DH didn't want to pay for Airpods). She uses them a LOT and has been careful (relatively!) with them, so DH is going to get her the airpods for this year.

emmetgirl · 12/10/2020 20:50

I find them really uncomfortable. I'm glad I got the chance to try some for a few days so I didn't waste a lot of money buying some.

Yes, they are different to the basic wired ones.

Everyone has different ears. They fit my ears perfectly and never fall out, regardless of what I’m doing, how windy it is etc. I think people with ear canals larger/smaller than the average might prefer in-ear products with a rubber tip?

Frappuccinofan · 12/10/2020 21:00

That’s normal though. It takes about a week for your ears to get used to them and adjust. If you persisted your opinion may have changed.
thelegohooverer · 13/10/2020 07:10

They’re similar in shape but bigger. I find them brilliant but my dd can’t keep them in and she didn’t get on with the standard ones either. There are a lot of shapes of earphone I find uncomfortable or even painful.
I think if you don’t get on with the standard ones, try something different.
