What are you putting in yours this year?

Over the years mine have had lots of different things - of course the traditional pjs or onsie, fleece blanket, cuddly toy, story book, dvd, colouring and activity books, mug, cup, bath bomb, popcorn, cookies, chocolate. I always put a tree decoration in. I'm thinking some nice toiletries this year.

I have a 3 year old DD and 1 year old DS, we do a big family box not one for each child. My DM and Dgran will be with us Christmas Eve so there’s also a few things for them in there. We have:

Pyjamas for everyone
Bed socks for everyone
Lush bath bomb for DC
Hot chocolate spoon for everyone
Chocolate coins for the DC
Bauble decorating activity
Elf colouring book

Then I put in our Santa plate, the night before Christmas and a ticket for a film to watch on Netflix

shellysheridan · 04/10/2020 14:16

We do a December 1 box that starts the fun. Contents include...

Christmas bedding and pyjamas
Christmas craft activities
Christmas picture books
Advent calendars
The elves!

The reason for December 1 is that these things can be enjoyed throughout December.
We do a very small Christmas Eve thing with snacks for Christmas Eve night, the plate for Santa and reindeer food

micc · 04/10/2020 14:16

Dd is 4 she will get
A new book
Pjs
Mug and hot chocolate
Christmas bath bomb
Christmas activity book
Paint your own Christmas decoration
Fuzzy socks

I'm currently about to pop with 2nd DC, I'll make it a Christmas eve box too so DD knows it's now not all about her Haha
I'll put in a Christmas sleep suit
Some baby books
Some baby soap
A rattle teddy
Cozy socks

AlwaysLatte · 04/10/2020 14:30

We always do individual boxes with new PJs (I stopped doing Christmas ones in favour of year round red or tartan ones), hot chocolate, marshmallows and choc stirrer in a new mug, DVD, book, bath bomb and reindeer food (although last year at 11 and 9 might have been the last time!)

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 04/10/2020 20:30

Ours has the Santa plate and stockings in (same every year) New pjs if I've got any. Gingerbread house kit. Some other activity for the day.

It's just a few bits to keep them busy.i dont get lots of new stuff.

OohKittens · 04/10/2020 20:34

We also do new pjs on the 1st

FrancisCross · 04/10/2020 20:40

My three are 10 and still love their Christmas Eve boxes (which our Elf magically delivers on Christmas Eve afternoon).

They get

Lush bath bomb (they ones with lids and sprinkles inside)
Chocolate gold coins
New PJs
Bed socks
Hot chocolate stirrers

DueNumberTwo · 04/10/2020 20:44

We have a family one with pjs, dvds, mugs, hot chocolate & a nice food treat.
We re-use the pjs, dvds & mugs every year (except to buy bigger kids sizes if needed).
We usually do the Christmas Eve box on the 23rd though as normally we go to my mums for dinner on Christmas Eve then church so it's too late for DS when we get in.

XiCi · 04/10/2020 21:01

Dd gets new PJs/fluffy socks/slippers. The book night before Christmas. A Christmas film dvd. Hot chocolate and marshmallows. A cuddly toy. Bath bomb.

PinkJam · 05/10/2020 16:19

We have simple Christmas Eve boxes. New pyjamas but winter themed ones rather than specifically Christmas so that they will get plenty of wear out of them. Then a hot chocolate stirrer, a bath bomb and some chocolate coins. Then reuse the same Christmas books each year - they each have a different one so we all sit and read them together.

DueNumberTwo · 05/10/2020 16:36

Oh yeah forgot to say we have some Christmas books in ours too Smile this year I'll add a Christmas baby grow for our baby due next month Smile

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 05/10/2020 17:33

We don't do stocking so put the bits in the box. I put the box out beginning December when tree goes up and treats last us all month. I don't really buy many more treats in.

Xmas mugs, same each year brought out.
Xmas bedding, same each year
Christmas PJ's
Fluffy socks
Santa comes to our city book
Maltesers
Jelly tots tube
Rolos tube
Smarties tube
After 8s
Mini cheddars
Mint matchmakers
Danish cookies
Spoons shaped like bass
Motorbike keyring
Shower turban for DD
Gingerbread house kit

Also got a big blanket for us to cuddle.

Myamoth · 05/10/2020 17:37

Mine are teenagers now, but we do a family Christmas Eve box, these days it's new PJ's & slipper socks each, a board game to play, a film to watch, hot chocolate & hot chocolate stirers/bombs, some sweets, crisps and/or popcorn to eat while watching the film. Sometimes new mugs, but we have loads so trying to stop doing that!
