I am fed up buying what I think is nice, and its discarded weeks later. Anyone got failsafe ideas??

Ask her for a list? Gift vouchers, small amounts for lots of shops, Claire's etc? Make up, if she wears it? CD's downloaded (legally of course) and covers she can do herself. Freindship bracelets/bead kits...voucher from you to her for a sleepover with friends at an agreed date....drawing stuff....art stuff.....phone?
Thinking of things my DD 12 would like. Cinema vouchers...book vouchers (or books of list)..nail stuff.. HTH

digi camera/camcorder - prices on the small ones have come down a lot recently

I have got mine a Digital camera with its own printer so she can print off her own pictures of her and her mates if she wishes.

Thanks for the suggestions! Her DVD player is one of the few things she does use. A printer is a good idea....I'll think on...

Funky luggage is a fantastic idea. My 12 year old would love that!

The other gift she's been given that went down an absolute storm, oddly enough, is one of those silk eye masks, which she uses every night now.

One other idea that she'd like is plain black T shirts, with lots of bits and bobs to customise them.
