Favourite Cheese

Every Christmas I vow that we will have some extra special cheeses and chutneys and every year we end up with supermarket basics and a jar of caramelised onion relish. Nothing wrong with that but this year I really want to up my cheese game.

Can anyone recommend their favourite cheese and accompaniments please? Thanks.

Stilton - blue
Tallegio -Italian, rich and creamy
Yarg - Cornish, crumbly, wrapped in nettles
Vignotte - french, soft, creamy, hint of lemon

Apple and ginger chutney
Quince jelly
Grapes
Celery sticks

Forgot the pickled walnuts!

Red Windsor - but only seems to be online these days.

Love brie, camembert, all blue cheeses especially Danish Blue!

All good with nuts, jams, celery...and mustard

@amieejust, my local cheese shop stocks it (they're also online, but a 15 minute walk for me).

Tunworth from Hampshire, a really strong tasty rinded cheese.
Another vote for Snowdonia Black Bomber
Not to be confused with Lancashire Bomb, also strong and tasty
Oxford Blue, creamy and tangy

Benleigh blue- such a good strong goats cheese or Cornish blue if you like mild.

Christmas always needs good Wensleydale or Cheshire to have with Christmas cake.

Plus Delice de Bourgogne creamy soft have to eat is quick as doesn’t last
And Bath oval biscuits, When i can find them, bloody maker has delisted them.

Camembert with fresh, warm [part baked] rolls.
Nadya made some with brioche rolls on Wednesday night on her program - was food porn to me!

I like honey and truffle oil with the blues and a bit of strawberry jam ( or quince if you want to be traditional) . Has to be Carr’s water biscuits or baguettes. I like to get an anti-pasti tray from M and S too. A few grape and decent olives and personally I skip the nuts.

Now I really want cheese!
Our tastes aren’t particularly sophisticated but I do love Double Gloucester with chives & my God it’s delicious with cold roast potatoes! I like Aldi’s Welsh Collier extra mature too.

Oh yes, I always get Stilton too!
