Seriously stuck on what to get my toddler for Christmas! He'll be turning 18 months a few days after Xmas Day.

What can I get him?

I don’t have a toddler any more, but some ideas:

Pop up play tent
Bubble machine
Cosy coupe
Slide
Swing
Scuttlebug
Trike
Sand/water table
Bath toys
Sticklebricks
Duplo
Mega bloks
Vtech toot toot

Mine turns 2 in November. For bday / Christmas weve got her:

Pikler triangle and ramp
Wooden kitchen with accessories
Teepee tent
Curvy board
Toniebox
Dolls cradle, carrier, nappy bag with nappies (for when her baby sis is born to help her feel involved)
Huge wooden ball run
Magnetic tiles

Some of that is off my parents too

Ours turned 2 in August and his kitchen was a huge hit, as well as a little wooden train track and playmobil 123 safari set.

We’re thinking of getting him an electric ride in car for Christmas.

DS will be 14 months at Christmas. He has an October birthday so I want to get stuff that will see him through the year. So he's getting (from everyone, not just us!)

Ride on toy
Tractor with animals
Mega bloks
Sock puppet
Toot toot garage
Happyland Farm
Melissa and Doug latch board
And some stocking bits

Other ideas I had were an Aquadoodle, a train set and a kitchen, but I think I'll leave those til next year

When my DD was that age, I got her brio, books and when got a play kitchen from my mum that was worth its wait in gold! She loves it

Schleich animals and brio mainly

My dn is 18 months at Xmas and we've got him some playmobil 123 (the house, car and horse and playground)

My DS is the same ages as yours to within a week or two. For Christmas we have got him

  • Duplo classic box
  • duplo number train
  • duplo my first cars set
  • wooden train set (the Chad Valley one seems brilliant for the money and found it in the Argos sale for £9! Grin )
  • remote control Thomas
  • Thomas jigsaw
  • several books
  • elf squishmallow
  • road map rug
  • May get him a balance bike so that he’s sorted for the nice weather in the spring when he might be starting to grow into it
  • if I get the twitch it will be for a few more toot toot cars or track, they were a huge hit for his first birthday. I will definitely twitch 🙈

Trying to think longer term as a rule, rather than stuff he will like for the next few months then grow out of.

Can I just suggest that if you get a tent (which is a fab idea that @Fivemoreminutes1 suggested), it's definitely a pop up and not one you have to put together, as I tend to find the poles in it break so easily Smile

My DS will be the same age as yours at Xmas. I'm getting him a Cocomelon toy, as in the YouTube programme (he's obsessed) , a FIsher Price duck ball, some hand held soft animal figures (safari ones at Smyths) and some bath toys (Cocomelon again). My mum is getting him a water rocket for the bath, a soft woody doll (baby version) and a specific pillow and blanket that I'm sure he'll like. He's getting a sunny bunny off another grandparent that will giggle and hop and no doubt drive me mad Grin

Also @WestTen , he adores his Cabbage Patch baby dolls. If you don't like those, perhaps try a cheap baby doll with a soft body and a hard head to see if your little one likes them? Smile
