What is a Christmas Stocking in your house?

Inspired by the tatless stocking filler thread. It appears people mean different things/shapes/sizes when referring to a stocking.

In our house, it's a large knitted festive sock, around 30cm high. You could technically wear it. Like the picture. You could never get the suggested sticking fillers if book/DVDs etc in them. You might be able to get a tub of pringles...but not much else!

My sons stocking is bigger than I'd like but it was made and gifted to him with love, and is beautiful. Not a problem for now as he's 2 so everything he has is chunky, like giant chalk/crayons and board books. Nonidea how ill male it look full when he's older!
To us, the stocking has smaller, sillier gifts and some treats and any Christmas themed gifts like santa socks and these are your gifts from santa

DH’s and DS’s were made by me using Christmas fabric, based on mine which was made for me by DM when I was little. Big enough for small toy, chocolate money, satsuma, pack of playing cards etc and a few small bits, but not a three foot long sack equivalent!

Before I had a stocking as a little girl we used to use a pillow case or an old sock of my DF’s! (I’m 34).

Mine have a sack each. Usually about 30 gifts inside. Must have tangerine and choc coins at the bottom! Oh and couple of crackers sticking out the top!

The stockings are the best bit!
