If it's not a local farm/butcher, where do you get your Christmas chicken from?

We're having game from a game supplier too but the chickens they sell seem a bit pricey.

I think a really good chicken is a bit expensive but it is worth it. We just did chicken a couple of years ago for Christmas dinner and it was delicious. Can’t afford to do that from the butchers every week! Can you get an organic one from your local supermarket? What about Marks and Spencer.

If you can get a decent size organic chicken from M&S they're good, it's what we get if we can't get to the butcher. I usually buy it in advance & freeze.

Decent chickens are expensive. It's worth it imo though and still less than a turkey

I was wondering if organic supermarket is massively different to fancy ones. We'll probably get an organic one from M&S then.

Local Turkey producer warning that 4.6 Million people who go away over Christmas probably won't be doing so this year. His worry is that if a significant proportion of them want Turkey, it's already too late as the Christmas birds are already hatched. Chicken will be the next best choice, don't leave it too late before ordering your Christmas poultry!
