Accompaniments for gin?

everythingisginandroses · 12/09/2020 23:42

I have bought some naice gin and glasses in a presentation box for my SIL & BIL. That should be plenty really, but the presentation box has a 'bare' gap inside and I was wondering about popping something small in there. Obviously it needs to go with gin and be smallish and non-perishable. Can anyone recommend any really good nuts/olives/chocolate/something else? TIA. Star

Two mini bottles of posh tonic. Like fever tree or fenthams

BuffaloCauliflower · 12/09/2020 23:46

Yes a couple of nice Fevertree tonics.

Thank you, @andpeggy1 and @BuffaloCauliflower - I hadn't even thought of tonic (duh!) I will see if small tonic bottles will fit, if not will look for something else!

I've not tried them out (on my "maybe" list for DH this year), but Lakeland sell a little packet of gin botanicals to go in a G&T:

I was going to suggest botanicals too, last year they had a similar box for £1.99 in Lidl

Last year Sainsbury’s had little boxes of savoury biscuits designed for different drinks. I’m sure there was a gin one. Got dh the red wine pack for his stocking and they were good. I don’t think they were Sainsbury’s own brand, just that’s where I saw them - near the alcohol.

What about a jjigger (single/double measuring cup)

Thank you everyone, some lovely ideas here

I was going to say Fever Tree ginger ale or the tonic - they also sell it in small cans which may fit your space in box

Jigger
What about a sphere ice mould

Lockdownhairdontcare · 13/09/2020 17:43

A sphere or large cube ice mould would be good. Amazon sell lots.
