Face paint (sensitive skin) and Modelling Clay

Looking for some recommendations please.

1 - a face paint for sensitive skin. Never used previously for this reason but DC is desperate to have their face painted

2 - we’re a play-doh house but recently my 6yr has been trying to make more models then is disappointed they can’t be kept without ruining the play doh. We had a small packet of crayons clay but it was very greasy and leave marks etc. Any recommendations would be great?

Fimo for modelling clay, then it can be oven baked to be kept. I’m sure there are cheaper alternatives too, but we’ve only used Fimo, so can’t recommend, but maybe check out Hobbycraft?

My dd was very sensitive but found snazaroo face paints were fine.

I second Fimo. It’s very easy to use and bakes well.

Thank you. I’ll try getting Fimo for some of DCs keep-forever creations then. What about just playing with and they maybe want our for a day or two them get bored with it and reuse. Is there anything that would meet that criteria? (Okay-doh dried out so he ruined for future use and Fimo fab for creations but I can’t be keeping everything forever or replacing clay constantly either).

Plasticine might fit the bill. It’s a good bit stiffer than play dough and dries semi hard but you can knead it soft again.
We used to have it in school in the 70s and 80s to build up hand strength.

Snazaroo facepaints have been fine on my kids skin but I also put a thin layer of moisturiser (or leftover suncream!) On as an extra barrier of any other brand will be used ( birthday parties etc) and we haven't had any issues yet.

It's usually in the 3 for 2 offer in birthday section in Tesco.

Last year, we bought some of the ‘fake’ Fimo that you can often get heavily discounted on Amazon. It worked just as well, but cost a fraction of the price.

Yes to snazaroo face paint. If DSs skins is particularly dry we try to get some moisturiser on him in the couple of hours before face paint, makes it much easier to wash off again.

DAS air drying clay is nice and smooth, we also make salt dough, but it takes ages to really dry properly and the kids tend to loose interest.

There are some cheap polymer Clay's from Amazon , I find they are a lot softer than fimo so a bit more tricky to get the really fine detail. However, that bother me a lot more than the kids who often find fimo a bit hard to work with. Fimo soft is a bit easier but again quite expensive.

I’m thinking of maybe ordering some of amazon polymer clay as I have feeling my littlest will also want to try so reluctant to spend £££. And Plasticine is a good call - I forgot all about that stuff. I’ll keep in mind the Fimo for when they creations are a little more refined
