Thinking of giving these to my DCs 9 and 7. Are they suitable for this age? Can they connect wirelessly and play with each other? Which games are good? Animal Crossing looks fun and calm.

DH has an xbox one which they use occasionally to play Rush and Lego Worlds. I don't want them playing any violent games.

They are absolutely age appropriate.

My 9 year old has access to their sibling's Switch though, and absolutely hates hand held mode. Insists on TV mode.

The Super Mario games are amazing, also Lego, Snipperclips, Pokemon. The Switch is very much more child friendly than the XBox or PlayStation.

Animal crossing is great, they can play with each other; Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros. etc. are great for that.

I'd say it's the most child friendly console out there.

I'd buy it soon though, between Covid and Brexit, the concoles can be hard to get.

My 6yo got one last Christmas, he loves it. Animal crossing is a really good game for all ages, I second Mario Kart, Luigi's mansion is fun and we've just got the new Spongebob game which he's enjoying. There are loads of free games that can be downloaded from the eshop too.

Thanks! I'll start looking around.
