Balsam Hill Trees

I know this topic comes up every year, but I think this may FINALLY be the year when I succumb and invest in a Balsam Hill tree. I’ve heard a few rumours that July is a good time to buy one? Anyone know if this is true? They have a Christmas in July sale on at the moment but the prices don’t seem any different to when I’ve checked them over the last few months.

Also, does anyone here have one and if so, which did you go for? There are so many it’s difficult to choose! I just know that I’ll need a fairly slim one, and I definitely want pre lit!

We bought our first BH tree a couple of years ago and it’s beautiful , a 7’ prelit Fraser fir . I’ve just ordered a 4’ prelit Alpine to go on a table in our small lounge in the July sale . I looked at lots of trees before buying our first and haven’t seen anything remotely comparable quality wise for the price ( if you buy during a sale ) .

Thanks @Floralnomad Smile That’s good to know - I’m hoping that if I get one it should last a good few years and pay for itself.

I’ve been looking at the Swiss Mountain Pine and the Grandview Fir. I also really like the Silverado Slim, but for some reason the 6’ version is so much more expensive.

A tip for anyone who may be looking - I signed up to Balsam Hill’s emails yesterday and they sent me a code for £50 off orders over £200, valid for 10 days... now I just need to make a decision!

Honestly they are magnificent!!

For anyone who spots this thread, I ended up going for the 6’ pre-lit Swiss Mountain Pine. I also liked the look of the Royal Blue Spruce but I couldn’t bring myself to spend the extra £60!

It came to £169 with my £50 off code, which I’m pretty happy with! It arrives next week... guess I’ll need to put it up, just to check all of the lights work Blush

How did the setting up go @Waiting42021

Waiting42021 · 14/07/2020 10:52

It was fab thanks @TheGirlWhoLived

I’m really impressed with it, definitely worth the money. Absolutely love the lights. My own fault really as I thought all Balsam Hill trees came with Easy Plug lights now, but the one I bought didn’t. It only took a minute to find the right plugs to connect the lights though so I’m not too fussed!

I didn’t fluff it out too much, it’s now back in its bag waiting for DH to put it in the loft Grin

I’m so tempted to get the Vermont white spruce.... but it’s almost £300, more for a 7ft one! Wonder if I could talk dh into it as a household expense...

Waiting42021 · 14/07/2020 19:22

@TheGirlWhoLived have you signed up to their emails?? If you do I think they send you a £50 off code straight away... Wink

That’s great, @Waiting42021 thanks!! Think that swings the difference Grin

VanillaSpiceCandle · 17/07/2020 09:36

@Waiting42021 they look really good! I’ve only ever had real trees but want a slim, pre lit one for my hall. Just signed up so hopefully the £50 offer is still on.

Waiting42021 · 17/07/2020 13:20

@VanillaSpiceCandle I think the offer will still be on Smile the Silverado Slim tree looked really nice for a hallway I thought. I really wanted one but it was quite a bit more expensive than the one I ended up buying!

Thanks, I’ve got the offer so that’s good. I suppose the good thing about buying now is it’s not coming out of the Christmas budget! I’ll have forgotten how much I spent by then. More for decorations!

I’ll look at that one too. Thanks for the recommendation.
