Because of lockdown I’ve started much earlier than usual, several things on the go, mostly from Jean Greenhowe’s patterns, since they’re not difficult and always turn out well.

Has anyone else made the Alan Dart Advent Calendar? It’s a Sirdar pattern, I don’t think it’s on his website. I found it rather late last year, only in September, so was frantically knitting to have it ready for 1st December. It’s huge - probably needs to hang on the back of a door, but little Gdcs loved it. A lot of work, but like the JG patterns, it did turn out like the illustration.
If anyone else fancies making one I’d advise starting now!

Here’s mine. Pattern said to knit the ‘ribbon’ but given about a million rows I just stitched on bought ribbon instead.

I’ve previously made 2 of the lovely JG Nativity sets, one for Gdcs and one for their pre school - they also turn out v well if you follow her very detailed instructions exactly.

That's lovely. The colours work really well and the little insert figures are adorable.

I have a fabric advent calendar that I made from a printed panel about 10 years ago. I bought another panel earlier this year intending to give it to DD1 as she planned to move out during the school summer holidays. Current circumstances have put that on hold and the panel is still folded in my to-do pile and house hunting is delayed until after Christmas.

I have a big bag of left over wool that I intend to use to make at least one nativity - it may be a JG one or I found a lovely crochet one last year that I did for another MNer. Plus I want to make socks for my 2 DDs as I have been bitten by the homemade sock bug in lockdown.

Christmas projects will be started soon. I'm having an operation next week and once recovered I can crack on with two fully functioning limbs Grin

Oooh that’s nice. 😊 I make knitted wreaths and am selling my pattern on eBay if any other knitters fancy a wee festive project ⛄️
