I've got five months to google it?

Parker231 · 26/06/2020 21:55

Lego or train set

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 26/06/2020 21:57

Bike, scooter, dolls house, microphone with music, little trampoline, ride in car, playhouse?

HathorX · 26/06/2020 22:00

My DD really enjoyed using OSMO with her ipad. You can get lots of games for it, but they are sneakily pretty educational whilst being really, really good fun. Age 5 is quite a good age to get it.

Parker231 · 26/06/2020 22:03

What’s she interested in? DD at that age was mad about dinosaurs and sea creatures. The following year she was skateboarding crazy!

chubbyhotchoc · 26/06/2020 22:07

Lego, a scooter, a bike...

Chimchimcharoo · 26/06/2020 22:09

Fancy dress outfits

I have a child with a birthday a few weeks before Christmas and I want to make their birthday special. It is hard when they have their birthday so close to Christmas in some ways. I'm planning a special day out for the family this year for their birthday.

Ricekrispie22 · 27/06/2020 06:23

Vet role play set
FurReal or Club Petz
Playdough creations
My Fairy Garden
Insect Lore butterfly garden
CraZ Sand

blackteaplease · 27/06/2020 06:31

I'm fairly certain when dd was 5 (Christmas birthday) she got a scooter, facepaints, full uniform for ballet which she'd just started and a butterfly dressing up dress.

ABananaAndAPear · 27/06/2020 07:51

My daughter is also 5 close to Christmas.
She’s told me she wants a skateboard for her birthday and a mermaid doll for Christmas.
I’m also going to be starting off her Lego collection with basic blocks for one occasion and Lego friends treehouse for the other!
Could you add to your daughters Playmobil collection this year?
She’s also getting a polly pocket, tea set, toy accordion, board games, dressing up, ink stamps, jigsaws, books and a children’s camera. With Coronavirus and Brexit I intend to be done by mid September.

Shinebright72 · 27/06/2020 07:53

Vtech do a colour train set and some cool vehicles that you can buy too.

ABananaAndAPear · 27/06/2020 07:54

Oh and she’s also getting her first barbie-type doll! She loves them whenever she sees on elsewhere and always plays with it.
I find there’s so much for this age range.

Wishihadanalgorithm · 27/06/2020 19:23

VTech camera, microphone or secret diary? Bike or scooter? Frozen Lego stuff or Lego in general? Board games such as Bugs in the kitchen, kerplunk or buckaroo? Orchard games? Hungry Bunny? Chocolate coin or lolly maker? Craft stuff? My DD has a Christmas birthday too - I find I end up giving all my best ideas for presents to relatives who ask what they could get her.

Scanner20 · 28/06/2020 18:20

They might have changed it now but the only thing I found annoying is the vtech camera battery covers have no screws and are easily taken off. So I've taken it away now as I'm concerned about the battery's. It was bought in 2017. As dd got older she kept taking them off!

Scanner20 · 28/06/2020 18:22

My dd will be 5 and wants lol dolls, Lego, rainbowcorn surprise, kindle or similar.

Equimum · 03/07/2020 09:49

I’m struggling with my own nearly five year old, but popular things my older on got at this age included:

  • Lego
  • 2-wheel scooter
  • bugs in the Kitchen
  • monopoly junior
  • Playmobil (much better at 5+ than earlier, due to all the tiny bits)
  • bug finding kit with a big ‘vacuum’
TheGirlWhoLived · 14/07/2020 18:13

Dd2 was 5 last Christmas and got
Cubby bear
Barbie/lol omg etc
Our generation dolls and outfits
Hama beads
Cluedo junior, monopoly junior and an orchard toys game
Lego Harry Potter set
Harry Potter dress up and light wand
A cot for her baby
Panda and turtle soft toys
Top model books
Gruffalo activity and sticker book set
Umbrella
Watch
Hair stuff like bows and bands and spray to turn it purple and glittery
Smiggle bag/pencil case etc

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 15/07/2020 21:24

Hama beads

APurpleSquirrel · 15/07/2020 21:36

Roller Skates
Aquabeads
Lego
Jewellery box
Remote controlled robot
Rebel Girls books
Busy book
Mud Kitchen

Powerof4 · 27/07/2020 10:49

My dd also has birthday and Christmas in December and will be 5! So far I have got her these:

Birthday
Roller skates & pads
Lego Friends turtle rescue set
Lottie doll & astronaut outfit set
Marble run accessory

Christmas
Lego space rocket launch set
Moulin Roty La Grand Famille suitcase (got it half price on eBay)

Stocking
Lottie surf outfit
Lottie dungarees set
Another marble run accessory
Stationary set
Necklace

She’s also likely to get a remote control car from her Auntie.

Should add I’ve started early this year so I could make sure things weren’t sold out due to covid!

Angelmonkey · 06/08/2020 09:07

My DD has just turned 5 - she got Lego (trolls and frozen), themed junior monopoly, a children’s cook book, 2 wheeled micro scooter and roller skates. For Christmas we are thinking about a karaoke machine or microphone as she loves performing

CustardyCreams · 06/08/2020 09:17

Second vote for OSMO if you have an iPad. Fantastic and gets years of use. You can buy extra games second hand on eBay .

Wishihadanalgorithm · 06/08/2020 13:48

Kiddie zoom camera from Vtech.
Hungry Bunny
The game ‘Don’t wake dad’

Justmemyself · 12/08/2020 21:33

I just got my daughter a yoto player which she loves and I am chuffed with as it's screen free time.
