Centre Parcs next Christmas?

My sister goes to Centre Parcs every year the week before Christmas. She has rung this morning to say that next year they want to go 23-27th Dec so actually over Christmas Day. She has invited us to go with them. Has anyone been over Christmas? Is it lovely and festive or crowded and commercial? Any tips of things to do or avoid? Thanks

We have been for Christmas before and the atmosphere is really nice. The best bit for our group was that there are a lot of special festive themed classes etc for the kids. And a Panto. But we found it far too busy and crowded so wouldn’t go that time of year again I don’t think.

We are also thinking about going over Christmas next year, so I look forward to hearing everyone's comments on this!

We've been but left Xmas Eve. It did look as if it would be fun. People took Xmas trees and decorations and lights. A good place for families to get together I should imagine.

We are just back after the second time. It really depends on what you like, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Free Santa Parade on Christmas Eve, fireworks on Boxing day. Lots of other festive activities although some not cheap.
We take our pop up tree, bits.for.Christmas dinner and go swimming in the outdoor pool once we've eaten!
It is busy but no more than other times of the year. Kids love it and it's set up for them so it makes for an easy holiday.

I have thought about doing this. How much is it for a family of four approximately?

theweebleshavelanded · 28/12/2019 17:11

we`re back from xmas there too! elveden 23- 27th (we got back yesterday). its great!!!!

theweebleshavelanded · 28/12/2019 17:13

i think it was £1400? ish for a new style woodland 2 bed villa. @Joyfulincolour its price per villa not person. so as a family of 3 we had a 2 bed villa, spare unused single in ds room

theweebleshavelanded · 28/12/2019 17:14

it cost the same as an august stay I think. was good though! we would definatley consider doing again!

One word: norovirus

pool wasnt as full as in august we thought, it felt warmer in the pool? pool opening times were more than i expected even xmas day. we cooked a roast chicken in our villa on xmas day. didnt do the panto or extra activities. place feels very festive with fake snow on xmas trees, lights etc. firework display on boxing day 6pm was really good over the lake. we take light the wrapper logs from cheap shops (£1 each!) to burn in the fireplace. it was £10 for 3 i think there. we also take plenty of wild bird seed/ fat balls to feed birds/ deer etc. better than bread which doesnt provide much in nutrition. they dont like banana! ask away.....

Katieweasel · 07/01/2020 22:22

Have been told that not all activities will be available over the Christmas week? Seems very expensive if there is nothing to do while we are there. Can anyone confirm if this is true?
