Who is alone today?

Not new to me I'm sorry to say..feeling as though should've got my arse in gear and done volunteering or something to help others but no..hey ho...here I am...sitting in a miserable lump at home ..

Me. Debating just going back to bed and sleeping the day away.

Not physically alone but feel it, it's the first Christmas since we spilt and I'm in the house (that I still pay for) trying to not look like I'm breaking inside. X

I am except for two cats. I'm having a great day - I struggle more with the lead up to Christmas.

Thanks, well the food I have no say in (eldest DD has taken over) XH made soup 🤢 it was vile, it seems 14 years and he never learned anything from me 😂😂

I wasn't 'allowed' to go to church today. As not everyone wanted to go and they didn't want me to take youngest DD and why would I even want to go and leave them etc. Etc. I feel sad as it's the first time in many many years I've not been to church.

I know I'm moaning and I'm sorry. I have some amazing friends that have messaged to tell me to keep my chin up and they'll see me soon - so I'm very blessed and grateful

I am - open house up from 3pm if anyone at loose end but doubt anyone turn up!

For me this whole Christmas thing has been horrible 😭😢

I'm sorry to hear that ohdear. I hope that things improve for you in the New Year. Do you have any friends or family that you could call?

Thanku. Not really no ..I just had a phone call yesterday pm and that's my lot 😑

Luckily I'm home alone today. Spent yesterday with friends and their family. I am treated almost like family when there but find it very tiring and would have been more than happy to be at home yesterday. I've got my adult kids coming tomorrow and although I know I'll enjoy their company I'd quite happily give it a miss.

I'm much happier spending most time on my own and hate if I have to be with people 2 days in a row.

Thinking of you OP. I'm glad that you spoke to someone yesterday. As you said, maybe volunteering is the way to go next year. It would keep you busy, and I'm sure the charity would appreciate it x

@Ohdear3 hang in there, nearly done.
I was privileged enough to have people to spend Christmas with and my friend stayed till yesterday.
But I am autistic and live on my own and am so desperate for people to stop calling and to get back into my routine. I can't wait till January 1st.
Different issue I know but I am thinking of you.

I spent Christmas on my own but when people asked me what I was doing for Christmas I lied and said oh I am spending it with friends or family. The reason I lied was because I am ashamed that I have to spend it on my own like i have no friends or family. Yes I do have family but I am an only child and my parents are both passed away and I have no family of my own and my extended family are of no use to me and they would not care if I was alive or dead so I do not have contact with them. Yes I do have friends but they all have their own families to go to at Christmas so I do not want them to feel sorry for me and in the past I have done volunteering but its not the same because you are spending Christmas with complete strangers. I have one good friend who has NEVER asked me to join her for Christmas. I wonder what she would say if I said to her i was doing nothing. Maybe I will test the water for next year and say I have no plans and do not want to volunteer anywhere and see what she says. I only have a very small flat so it would not be possible to do Christmas at mine for my friends who are on their own and besides they do not drive so how would they get to me? I do not drive either so transport would be a factor
