Of course I'm grateful to get anything at all but My Mother has excelled herself this year!
Two cleaning products, one with the price still on and a slimming recipe cook book 😂😂😂

@Peridot1 Wow! A Jacob Rees Mogg book sound horrific! I can't imagine many Tory voters would want that!

Spacerader · 26/12/2019 21:59

I didn't do to bad this year, however my mum did get me a sanctuary body lotion gift set that I will never use.

Years ago my ex boyfriend mum gave me a pack of multi vitamins.

I got a 5 or 6 tops from wish (as in the cheap Chinese website) they are horrible fabric, see through and too bloody small!

I asked for an electric blanket, I got a cheap thing from wish that you put in your bed to wsrm the bed up before you get in!
A- it is not what I asked for
B- i am scared it is dangerous
C- if i did use it it would most likely be unusable in 2 weeks because it is so cheap.

I did not ask for expensive items and we have a wish list that we both add links to. I love clothes and would have been happy with 1 nice top from asda rather than the pile of junk iv been given.

All our gifts were fab although one has made me a bit Hmm
I can see why mil bought it - it's a game and we do enjoy playing games. It's a jokey team game (we have 3 dc over the recommend age plus us 2 so can manage teams) so that's good. But the game is all about facial expressions- making them and reading them. Sounds good, except 2 of the 3 dc who can play are autistic and facial expressions- well it's just not a strong point. The right idea, just the wrong execution iykwim

My colourblind DD received Uno, a card game almost entirely dependant on matching colours. Could understand the error if it wasn’t from her grandad who knows full well it will be useless to her.

Blackbear19 · 27/12/2019 07:48

AHippoNamedBooBooButt maybe MIL was thinking it would be a good game for them to play in an educational learn through play sort of way?

Worse things in my house are multiples of the same thing, we now have 3 Buzz Lightyears and 3 Paw Patrol chases. I really wish ILs would ask before they buy. But actually what they do is as SIL what her IL wants and buys mine the same!

@ritzbiscuits - I know! DS has a warped sense of humour! He thinks it’s very funny.

Most of my presents were brilliant. However, XP was over last week, I invited him for Boxing Day and he said he'd bring me a present, he'd seen the very thing and thought of me. So I hastened out and bought him a present (a new version of something he already had, in the tried and trusted 'men don't like new stuff, just updated old stuff' way).

He bought me a paperback book of a book that I've had on my Audible account for about eighteen months. I wouldn't mind quite so much (anyone can make a mistake with books), except that I TOLD HIM I'D LISTENED TO IT WHEN I GOT IT EIGHTEEN MONTHS AGO! I actually discussed the contents with him (as I had issues with one of the chapters and it's by someone we both like).

So he never bloody listened. All those conversations we had about the book, I might just as well never have flapped my mouth.

All is not lost, I shall pass it on to a friend to read.

He bloody loved the present I'd got him. FGS.

Marks and Spencer toiletries multi packs of mini tales and shower ‘Creme’ and Cath Kidson gift box of toiletries.
Looked at where they were made in view of the Tesco Christmas card thing to find that the Marks and Spencer’s products made in Thailand and the Cath Kidson in China.
Never use any of these products.

Mini talcs I mean

CottonHeadedNinnyMug · 28/12/2019 21:50

Cleaning cloths from my SIL. She knows my DH (her DB) does the majority of the cleaning, as I work FT and he does not.

StCharlotte · 01/01/2020 12:09

I do not have baths, and I do not use moisturiser as I have greasy skin and really CBA with them. Plus I'm not into doing anything more than exfoliating my face.

Oh give them a break - how are they supposed to know that?
