Children who want something from Santa we don't

How to you explain to your child Santa isn't getting them (nintendo) as we feel they are too young? We have lovely presents and I know they will be happy.

Also when they go back to school they will hear their friends might have got computer tech?

Thanks for any advice in how to explain

Surely it's a bit confusing if you tell dc Santa does not bring tech but their cousins, neighbours, school friends etc all get iPads, phones and Nintendo switches from Santa. DD wanted a giant super expensive piece of plastic with tons of small plastic accessories to be lost (our generation ice cream truck) I even looked in to it second ha d but was still close to or over £100.. just no!! . Wherever she mentions it I just say 'remember Santa doesn't bring everything you ask for' so there isn't the expectation she'll definitely get it.

Oh and DD1 wants a puppy or a baby sibling (I'm a 40 year old single parent) so disappointment all round this year lol

Fatyer Christmas brings stocking fillers. The big money stuff is bought by parents. I think I explained that to the DC when they were school age.

My teenagers never did letters to Father Christmas, I just told them he chooses which presents to give them.

No disappointment or failed expectations.

That's why you tell them santa will not bring anything that isn't approved of by their parents.

@whyamidoingthis that's a better idea. I was responding to those that have said they tell their DC that Santa doesn't bring tech.
