The DC are hyped up - constantly telling me how excited they are etc.
Just realised I'm sitting here watching Arthur Christmas as the kids left it on Sky Christmas earlier & that's what must have started since they went to bed!

I'm sitting here with the lights on & getting quite excited myself Grin

BeBesideTheSea · 22/12/2019 21:00

No! Despite the tree being up, and mince pies baked. Not sure what to do to up the festive spirit.

Hairwizard · 22/12/2019 21:02

DC are all excited...especially my DS who is SEN he is just so excited he's actually exhausting me out! If it not Santa! It the elf's! Or he is bossing other DC about telling them they getting coal for been naughty! Hmm I think tomorrow (don't know why?) I think the spirt will come and hit me Xmas Smile

cherryblossomgin · 22/12/2019 21:07

I am doing a 36 hour shift at work, I do get a nine hour sleep. but I am here until tomorrow at 9pm then that's me off until Saturday. I feel a little Chrismassy. Really looking forward to cooking on boxing day, I have two Christmas days, and this boxing day it's my turn. We have been watching Christmas films at work.

PrivateSpidey · 22/12/2019 21:12

I'm still waiting for it to hit me this year.

But tonight my plan is wrap up the last few presents, have a green ginger wine and watch It's A Wonderful Life - surely that combo will make me feel Christmassy?!

WeeDangerousSpike · 22/12/2019 21:15

Not at all. I'm wrapping Christmas presents and I'm miserable about it.

I've been in hospital since the 13th. Was supposed to be for 3-5 days then I'd be fit and well for Xmas. It hasn't worked out like that at all.

I've been let home on weekend release, but I'm back in tomorrow morning for more inpatient tests. I don't know when I'll be coming home. I'm shit scared, and even though I expect them to let me home for Xmas day at least, I really can't get the Xmas spirit together at all.

DD's 3 and it's going to be such a damp squib for her.

This is the first year in forever that I've had a job where I get a 'Christmas holiday', I've been looking forward to it so much, and its all just turned to shit.

Ah well. Nothing to be done, but I'm feeling proper sorry for myself and just can't seem to snap out of it Sad

The ILs are visiting so we had our Christmas dinner today (just the 3 of us on Christmas Day so will have a buffet then). Slumped on the sofa afterwards with the Christmas tree lights twinkling I felt very Christmassy :)

SallyLovesCheese · 22/12/2019 21:20

I am feeling totally christmassy! Compared to last year, when I was about to go into hospital for induction (although I didn't know it), I am loving wrapping presents, baking cookies, watching Christmas films. I love it!

Thanks for reminding me to buy Baileys tomorrow!

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 22/12/2019 21:35

I have wrapped up presents in gift bags and put them in large bags labelled Christmas Day and Boxing Day as I am going to spend Christmas with family tomorrow. I am in semi panic mode in case I have forgotten someone!

Bourbonbiccy · 22/12/2019 21:37

Nope, I really wish I was. I'm missing my lovely mum (2nd Christmas without her and not getting any easier).

I think it will be lovely, my son has a little idea what happening and I'm "putting on m big girl pants" and have a happy smiley face on, but I'm so sad inside. I don't want to dampen the holiday for anyone.

Stompythedinosaur · 22/12/2019 21:41

I've been feeling christmassy since the dc's nativity play last week. I'm a bit sad that I have to work tomorrow!

I'm normally really stressed which ruins the pleasure of Christmas, so I'm very glad that I did so much in advance this year, and that a massive declutter has made my house much easier to cope with.

We3kingsoforientareandabump · 22/12/2019 21:42

I'm on my 4th drink while I wait for the eldest 2 dc to go to sleep so I can start wrapping.

Going to watch it's a wonderful life while I wrap so I'll be feeling super festive 🎅

Cineraria · 23/12/2019 01:52

I am feeling quite Christmassy now. Most things are done apart from the wrapping and mince pies and I'm relaxing sat right by the tree with a glass of port.

I am not feeling quite as Christmassy as DS2 though. He is only two but is so thrilled by "Tismiss", he might almost explode with it, i think. He has been doing Christmas crafts, Christmas baking, looking at Christmas books, wearing Christmas clothes, pyjamas and undies and insists on wearing a Christmas bib most of the time too!

DramaAlpaca · 23/12/2019 01:56

Not yet. I will when I've finished work tomorrow, but I have so much still to do

HerRoyalFattyness · 23/12/2019 01:59

I am a little.
I also have 3 very excited children counting down the days.
DD is up now telling me that it's wake up time Hmm
I doubt I'll be feeling as festive tomorrow if i.dont sleep soon!

SnorkMaiden81 · 23/12/2019 02:04

I have a day and a half of work to go and yet I'm still awake feeling a bit giddy.

Admittedly I'm just looking forward to a bloody good roast dinner more than anything else.

BillHadersNewWife · 23/12/2019 02:15

No yet but I think that's because I haven't been able to do my food shopping yet! Once I get tins of chocolates around the place and the kids get hysterical on coke and Roses....then I'll feel festive!

managedmis · 23/12/2019 02:16

LOVE Uncle Buck!

Star2015 · 23/12/2019 04:33

I’ve got a morning shift to do at work this morning, going to bake some pastries and take some fizz into work so hopefully that will go down well and will be a nice start to the day..... hopefully once I finish I’ll feel more Christmassy.... we hosted my family last night and everyone was so tired the evening didn’t really go as planned which was a little disappointing especially since I had been prepping food from 8am - 3pm... ah well.... we’re at Miller and Carter tonight which I’m looking forward to!

SlatternIsTrying · 23/12/2019 19:32

DD’s birthday today. I will feel Christmassy tomorrow.

Hairwizard · 23/12/2019 19:38

@WeeDangerousSpike
Am so sorry you are having such a crap timeBiscuit
Really hope you get to be home for christmas day. All your dd will really want is her mummy. Have a hug! X

Spudina · 23/12/2019 19:47

@WeeDangerousSpike, sorry that sounds rough. Wishing you all the best. X
Not remotely Christmasy yet. DH and I have fallen out and aren’t speaking. I haven’t finished present shopping yet and am work tomorrow. Haven't wrapped a single one. Haven’t watched a single Christmas film and I can’t effing find my A Muppets Christmas Carol DVD. We moved house last week and are living out of boxes. Plus I had sad news today at work (am a nurse). These are all first world problems and I’m trying to snap out of it but can’t seem to. Arrrggghhh.

WeeDangerousSpike · 25/12/2019 16:02

Thank you Smile they let me out with half a ton of tablets, and we are at DMs today for dinner.

I'm not able to eat as much as I would like to, but I'm not in hospital, and that's the important thing!

Hope everyone's having aclovely day Wine
