Nigella's turkey with streaky bacon

Has anyone done the Nigella turkey, but added the streaky bacon on top too? Does it work? I thought of possibly added butter under the skin and then streaky bacon on top. Will it spoil it?

I haven’t seen Nigella’s recipe, but every year I soak streaky bacon rashers in single malt whisky for a couple of days before completely covering the turkey with them.
Prior to that I slide crushed garlic cloves and duck fat underneath the turkey skin, to flavour, baste and moisturise it as it cooks.
I’ve had no complaints in thirty years...!

Do you mean the brined turkey?

Yes, though you should take the bacon off later in the cooking process, so that the skin browns
