What would your recipe be?

Gammon plated with the turkey for Xmas dinner but I want to cook it on Xmas eve in the slow cooker - want a simple easy recipe...help! Normally just cook it in coke but not sure if that's the right recipe for xmas dinner?!

I think I will bring it to the boil first just incase it is too salty. Mine is 3kg. Apparently 7-8 hours should give a slicing consistency. If you want pulled pork you need 9-10 hours.

I will then give it 30mins or so in the oven with a glaze.

Soaked over night in cider/applejuice then slowcooker on a bed of apple halves. Will finish in oven with honey and mustard glaze.

I've just put mine in with cherry coke, cinnamon and star anise! Going with brown sugar honey and mustard to glaze tomorrow. Fingers crossed 🤞

Just updating incase anyone is interested.

The Ham was great!

Poured in some brown sugar, added some ground cinnamon, ginger, cloves and marmalade. Added a little ginger beer just to make it into a paste. Rubbed it all over the ham. Cooked on low for 8 hours. Removed the rind made a basic dark sugar, marmalade and mustard glaze and gave it about 40 mins in the oven.

The stock that was left in the slow cooker tasted lovely and sweet. Not salty at all. So I reduced that down added a bit of rum and butter and served it with the ham.

It carved beautifully once cooled on Christmas Eve and went down a storm with the turkey on Christmas day.
