I'm useless at Christmas, always leave it til the last minute and never learn, please tell me I'm not the only one?

And anyone want to share your last minute tips? I've just got a couple of sibling presents and 2 friends kids presents to get that I could really do with ordering online today, should I stick with amazon? Has anyone seen any good last minute deals about?

Not helpful but i would be a stressful mess if i left it this late.

I personally think there are alot better deals than Amazon... But depends what you are getting?
What are you getting the children? The works are very good for books / arts and crafts but i would go into the shop rather than order online if you have one near you.
The book people are good as well .. But again depends if you have people working for them locally....

amazon have the last minute deal sale on, so i would stick with them. you are definitely not the only one, i haven't started wrapping and whilst i have all my gifts (i think!) I don't have enough wrapping paper so will have to go and get that today...

lovemenorca · 19/12/2019 12:34

You have 4 gifts to buy with 6 days to go?

I think you’ll be ok! Confused

livingthegoodlife · 19/12/2019 12:38

I'd probably prefer real shops this late on, that way you have it safely in your hands and can get on and wrap it.

Id decide what you want and then make a list of where these things are and then get out there! Don't browse, you won't get inspired. You need a plan.

I started Xmas shopping yesterday. Everyone is getting vouchers and can get something they want. I'm going to finish Xmas shopping in Waitrose (naice wine £40+ for DDs' godfathers) and B&Q later today. We might swing by and get a tree and decorate it tomorrow.

I always work to deadlines, and Xmas is no different. I accept this is what I'm like and don;t beat myself up about it (I used to)

morningcuppatea · 19/12/2019 12:52

I'm glad I'm not the only one, last resort will be vouchers! We only got a Xmas tree yesterday although it was a real bargain in b&q all real trees were reduced to £5!

So the kids are a boy aged 5 and girl aged 8, spending up to £15 each, I've been browsing and I'm just driving myself mad so any ideas?

Also what on Earth do you get for someone who is vegan, against chemicals, everything has to be ethical etc. If I can't come up with something though it'll be a voucher!

No use asking me - I'm vouchers all the way this year. But if asked for gift ideas I'd suggest hat/glove sets as kids that age will lose a glove here, a hat there many times over in the cold weather to come. A small bag of sweets/chocolate to make the gift more 'immediate' for them at the point of opening.

Vegan/ethical/chemical - a woman. Doesn't matter really. A really nice hand soap, or shower product - I'm not sure on delivery times but maybe www.thecrueltyfreebeautybox.co.uk/collections/plastic-free Just something modest, even a single item, in your price range - but shows care on you part to find it.

caperplips · 19/12/2019 13:44

I have pretty much all present and food shopping to do! Apart from dd, we have her sorted. The rest....meh! It'll happen. I am not remotely panicked.

ForMySorrow · 19/12/2019 13:51

@morningcuppatea for the ethical friend you could get a bamboo lunch box and travel cup set, reusable sandwich wrap material (can't remember what it's called!), a metal reusable straw to avoid having to use paper and plastic ones when out. I have a friend similar and this is what she's raving about at the minute.

sleepismysuperpower1 · 19/12/2019 15:08

hats and gloves are good ideas for the kids, peacocks do some here and they have a next day delivery option. for the ethical friend, maybe an oil diffuser with a 'natural' essential oil?

Selfsettling3 · 19/12/2019 15:34

DecemberSnow the book people have gone into administration.

CheekyFucker · 19/12/2019 16:51
