Is he a traditional FIL type? I ask because mine is def not so none of the usual suggestions would work for him.

I often get my own dad a puzzle as he loves them, but a really classy one.

A nice edition of a book he likes? Eg penguin have just done a gorgeous new series of
cloth bound that includes poetry anthologies.
