Awkward present wrapping

I can't Bethe only one with an awkward present to wrap!

We have got one of our Goddaughters a foot long Stegosauras. I don't even know where to start on this one... The plates along its back don't make wrapping easy! Tempted to just stick a bow on her...

I'd just put it in a box or bag.

Big gift bag with tissue paper stuffed in top. Plenty of kid designs available.

I’ve seen people suggest the Christmas pudding bin bags as wrapping for those awkward presents, now I just need to find some myself 😂

Make her close her eyes and guess what it is by feel. Xmas Smile

Seriously, though, box or bag; or hide the dinosaur somewhere, and give her a small wrapped clue to tell her where it is.

I keep boxes through the year so everything is box shaped & pretty!

You can make the right sized bag using wrapping paper - look on YouTube, it's quite easy. Use some reasonable quality wrapping paper or brown kraft paper so that the pointy bits don't poke through.

Wrap it in popping plastic (probably 'bubble wrap to you) until the shape can no longer be felt.

Box, bag, Santa sack.. like the note to look in xyz place too.

We used to get random things hidden in the tree.. like a soft toy monkey climbing it one year.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 17/12/2019 17:27

Thank you for the ideas! Should mention she's not quite two years old.
I might hide her under the tree... She's visiting us on New year's Day.

I bought my nephew a two foot long Velociraptor.

I set about it wildly with the paper and sellotape. No wonder they died out, it didn't stand a chance.

AngusThermopyle · 17/12/2019 17:32

A foot long? That's not that big-is it actually bigger? Use either a box or fashion a large bag from strong enough wrapping.

I like the idea of just putting it under the tree. She could wriggle in and get it. Fun 🎄🦖🎄
